well? I personally think it's fine as I have lots of pics of me as a baby with my bum out

YANBU for the bum bit, but using 'lil' and other twee abbreviations are strictly verboten on MN. Prepare for a flaming.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 30/11/2012 15:06

1/10

SackGirl · 30/11/2012 15:07

I hope people aren't that petty to flame me for using one word - when I have posted an inoffensive non judgmental question regarding a babies bottom! - Thanks for your reply - I have him in a santas hat with his LITTLE bum out - Make for good family Christmas photo's :>

hm its fine if they are just for your use but not if you plaster them all over facebook or any of the sharing sites. whilst you may have lots of pics of you like that people can only see them if you get them out of the packet and show them. its not the pics or the subject in them that is always the problem it is what you do with them. Loops has a point about twee abbreviations but if i was going to flame you it would be over the use of there instead of their Smile

SackGirl · 30/11/2012 15:08

what do you mean 1/10?

OP posts:
SackGirl · 30/11/2012 15:10

ever so sorry, my spelling/grammar/general use of the English language is usually very good - I was rushing the post whilst sorting through photo's on my laptop - Please no flaming ^ There's my written apology

OP posts:
mummymeister · 30/11/2012 15:11

are you going to put them on fb sackgirl?

LaCiccolina · 30/11/2012 15:13

Flame for lil? No sorry better things to do with my time....Personally I dislike the idea that mn is so sniffy. That's a very small group of nit pickers who possibly have more time on their hands than necessary.

Baby pics with bottoms fine, be careful of plastering on fb etc though. Other than that unsure it's an issue.

SackGirl · 30/11/2012 15:13

no not putting them on FB - Just wanted to have them for a cute Christmas photo - Also might give one framed to his nan and grandad for Christmas present (as he is in a santas hat)

Course YANBU :) enjoy your baby!

perfect ammo fastforwarding 12 years......

SackGirl · 30/11/2012 15:14

I am wary of which pictures I post of my LO on FB - Although I have maximum privacy on my FB and very few friends on there (strictly only people I know to speak to in person)

OP posts:
SackGirl · 30/11/2012 15:15

and lol quirrel

nickelbabeuntiladvent · 30/11/2012 15:16
Grin

your OP is supposed to speak volumes about you - yours doesn't (judging by your apology post)

i had to laugh cos it was funny Grin

No, YANBU there's nothing wrong with taking pictures of your own baby's bottom.

MikeOxard · 30/11/2012 15:16

Yanbu, bum out and santa hat on is a hilarious idea. Also funny: "I hope people aren't that petty to flame me for using one word". Hahahaha, yes, yes they are. :o

NotQuintAtAllOhNo · 30/11/2012 15:20

Lil is an abbreviation that I do understand.

Go for it, cute naked baby in a lovely Santa hat is just sooooo Anne Geddes.

SackGirl · 30/11/2012 15:22

Lol Nickel and Mike - I still have to get used to mumsnet protocol, you'd think the amount of parents who are half doing one thing and half doing another would accept the odd mistake!! It's all light hearted though, if people feel better for blowing off steam that way I say let them!! Sometimes makes for a bit of entertainment.

OP posts:
SackGirl · 30/11/2012 15:24

Thanks NotQuinn - Just looked up Anne Geddes and how cute are her pictures!! Goodness that's enough to make anyone smile

OP posts:
Cortana · 30/11/2012 15:28

Agreet with Quint, very Anne Geddes. Sounds like a lovely sweet photo.

Also Sackgirl, good on you for your attitude towards the grammar police.

I have to laugh when MN gets in a froth about twee abbreviations, my DP and DC wouldn't understand them but I've never been encouraged to LTB for it not even by DM, DMIL, DFIL. The idea behind not using text speak or abbreviations is for the users of MN who might have visual needs as sometimes people use programs to read the text to them IYSWIM. Grin

SackGirl · 30/11/2012 15:39

Lol Cortana definitely point made, I didn't have a clue what all of that meant when I first started using MN - Thank goodness they have a page explaining it all

OP posts:
Cortana · 30/11/2012 15:42

Exactly, to anyone new it's gibberish. Grin Also I don't think MN abbreviations would be any more coherent on the text to speech software than text speak, so we're all guilty of it.

EverythingsDozy · 30/11/2012 15:50

All I can think of is the film love actually, where they're in the art gallery with loads of pictures of nude people with Christmas hats covering their rudey bits Shock
YANBU unless you were to post them all over the internet Smile

bedmonster · 30/11/2012 15:56

Yanbu, baby bums are the cutest thing, right up there with baby feet!! Snap away.
