To think just because it's nearly Christmas doesn't mean cinnamon has to be put in to everything!

It doesn't belong in my hot chocolate, I just want a regular hot chocolate, it doesn't belong in toasted teacakes and no I don't want a Ginger Spice Cinnamon blah blah loaf cake either, just give me lemon drizzle Grin

I'm with you. I can't stand cinnamon.

SamanthaStormer · 30/11/2012 10:47

YABU. Cinnamon IS Christmas. It's also deliciously yummy. Smile

OhTheConfusion · 30/11/2012 10:48

YANBU I don't like cinnamon either Sad

NothingIsAsBadAsItSeems · 30/11/2012 10:48

YABU cinnamon is great Grin

judefawley · 30/11/2012 10:51

I'm with you. Cinnamon is a bastard.

Cloves, cardamon, cinnamon and mulled wine - you can all feck off.

FushiaFernica · 30/11/2012 10:52

Love cinnamon, apparently it has health properties, no idea what they are mind you.

psychomum5 · 30/11/2012 11:07

I love cinnamon. I would have it all year round. It is lovely and spicy and yes, festive.

but you should have the choice not to have it, as some people hate it.

I hate ginger, I would not want a ginger shot in my drink.

It is a preserver tho. It helps cakes and biscuits last longer. I hope the health properties work the same in me. I quite like the idea of lasting longer Grin

WelshMaenad · 30/11/2012 11:09

It can help reduce blood sugar levels, I eat quite a lot if it as I'm diabetic. It's yummy!

MadameCreeper · 30/11/2012 11:12

I love cinnamon but Yanbu but it does not need to go into every biscuit and drink at this time of year.

It tastes best in a chilli or tagine.

LondonElfInFestiveCheerBoots · 30/11/2012 11:23

YABU. Cinnamon is amazing and should be in everything, all the time - rice, drinks, tagines, apple pies, curry, cookies, bolognese, cakes, roast potatoes. Also means that DP doesn't steal my food, he hates the stuff, weirdo.

chocoluvva · 30/11/2012 11:25

YANBU despite its insulin receptivity increasing properties.
So disappointing when a delicious muffin or suchlike is spoilt christmasfied with cinnamon.

booklava · 30/11/2012 11:26

Just been shopping and in Lidl they are selling Waffle Makers and Cinnamon Waffle Makers Confused wtf!

aPirateInaPearTree · 30/11/2012 11:26

loathe cinnamon. yanbu

chocoluvva · 30/11/2012 11:26

In hot chocolate?!
Oh dear.
Very wrong.

DontmindifIdo · 30/11/2012 11:29

I actually really like cinnamon, but only in its correct place, so never in hot chocolate. Therefore YANBU

bubalou · 30/11/2012 11:35

Cinnamon - mmmmmmmmmmmmm

In fairness I would put it on everything. I love it so in my opinion YABU.

Dontbugmemalone · 30/11/2012 11:50

YANBU. A little cinnamon is fine, cinnamon in large quantites is wrong.

CheshireDing · 30/11/2012 11:56

What the hell is a Cinnamon Waffle Maker, why is it different ? Hmm

LondonElf it does NOT belong in
rice, drinks, tagines, apple pies, curry, cookies, bolognese, cakes, roast potatoes. That is all manner of wrong! Grin < cringes at the thought >

Mulled Wine is not on the same level though, Mulled Wine is gorgeous.

Yanbu. It's vile.

And the airfresheners. Cinnamon is not the official smell of Christmas. Bleurgh.

Baileys is the official smell of christmas.

theoldtrout01876 · 30/11/2012 12:24

Its very good in coffee, when I drink coffee, which is seldom, I always get a cinnamon one .

I really like cinnamon though but prefer it in savory stuff not sweet.

MadameCreeper · 30/11/2012 12:31

Mmmmm now I'm thinking of cinnamon toast, as students that was our after pub snack of choice.

AThingInYourLife · 30/11/2012 12:37

:o

YANBU

I was thinking that the other day when I walked down the high street and every café had pictures of stuff covered in cinnamon powder.

MackerelOfFact · 30/11/2012 12:43

I can't usually abide the smell or taste of cinnamon or ginger, but as soon as it gets cold I can't get enough of the stuff! Cinnamon on my porridge, ginger cake (which I usually loathe), chai tea, I even went out of my way specifically to buy Waitrose's cinnamon cake soap the other day.

It's so warming and comforting and just, well, Christmassy.
