he's in a few layers of normal clothes. A cost suit which I think has down in it. A fleece buggy cosytoes. And I just went out and put extra blanket on.

He seems to sleep better outdoors. But it is starting to get really cold. It's very frosty this morning.
I could take him into house, but he's likely to be woken by his big brother. And he's likely to get hot with so many layers on.

Ermm nope? I never said I was 'for' letting a child sleep outside in winter? Where did I say that???Hmm

No, you didn't. That's what reverse psychology means!!

I thought you were deliberately posting in an incomprehensible manner to say it was a bad idea. Grin Therefore cleverly applauding those posters who didn't see any issue with it.

Never mind. My bad.

My children are all still alive and everything, despite not locking them in a heated room 24/7.

piglettsmummy it was a serious question and I still don't know what you stopped giving in with. And after your replies to madwoman I'm now more confused.

piglettsmummy · 03/12/2012 18:41

I was just saying I gave in allowing my baby to fall asleep outside in summer and taught her to settle herself inside!! Baby's might sleep better outside but some can be taught to sleep just as long inside!

madwomanintheattic · 03/12/2012 18:59

But if you 'gave in' and let her sleep outside, then you let her do it. Where does teaching babies to sleep inside figure?

If you didn't 'give in' to her unreasonable demands to sleep where she was comfortable (ie outside) and forced her to complex with your wishes to imprison her in a closed box with heating where she could share all the germs with everyone else, that wouldn't be 'giving in'. That would be bending her will to yours.

Babies sleep anywhere, on a table, on a chair, top of piano, window ledge, in the middle, on the edge...

Let sleeping babies lie. Even if it's outdoors in -3. Parental hysteria does not a safer baby make.

madwomanintheattic · 03/12/2012 19:00

comply. Not complex.

what in the actual f**K is this $h!t, if this isn't a troll trying to wind everyone up then I give up, I really do.
It's minus 3 outside bring the child indoors you absolute mentalist, you're all supporting her leaving an 8 month old baby outside in December in below freezing weather! WTF is wrong with you all?
