to think you cannot tell what someone is like in rl

Often see threads where someone says things like you "you must be hard work" when the op is complaining about something trivial/unimportant.
Surely this is the point of mumsnet. It is surely a vehicle to express things you wouldn't necessarilly express in real life.

I am sure some people are just like their MN persona. I am the same in RL as I am on here.. cant see the point in pretending to be someone I am not.

To be fair, I've never seen someone say that based on an OP alone.

It's normally after that person has posted a lot more.

Not sure to be honest. My postings sometimes go with my mood, sometimes purely for a wind up.

No one really knows what others think of them though do they.

I'm told that I'm hilarious once I start in real life, on here using the written word I'm not so.

Im smarter in rl than I am on here. I think I come across a bit thick.

Sometimes a poster makes certain statements and the sentiment behind them really does paint a vivid picture of what they are like in rl.
