I am so fed up of whenever I get a new job of being asked to cough up around £50 for a crb check money that I can ill afford especially when I am trying to get myself straight.
Anyone else feel this or is it just me.
I mean for gods sake I have a crb thats only 6 months old but they won,t accept it.
Sorry just need a rant.

Are you self employed?

Are you self employed? Surely the employer should pay the cost. I do and all my staff are freelancers.

I hear you. I'm a nurse working in the NHS and we have to pay for our own CRBs now. Ridiculous.

lakia · 26/11/2012 12:06

No not self employed.
I work as a carer and have just been offered releif work were the hours are not guaranteed.
I am finding that alot of companies are asking you to pay as sometimes they pay for a persons crb and then they leave.
I really can,t do it this side of christmas and I also think that £50 is steep.

I think it is madness that you have to keep getting another one frankly. If we have to have them at all (and I am not toally convinced that they are very useful) surely one check should do for everything?
