No, balls.
Big, clangy ones.

gordyslovesheep · 23/11/2012 22:39

NO it's NOVEMBER ffs

shesariver · 23/11/2012 22:40

I didnt say it actually was Christmas - I know its not, I just dont get the "wait until December", what difference does a day or week or two make Grin

apostropheuse yes you're right, just realised I missed the word Glasgow out Blush....and I happen to agree with you, we do it as a tradition for our boys now but its not a patch on the days when I was wee and we were taken to see all the Christmas decorations, including the windows of Goldbergs etc, the 2 hour long wait to see Santa through the fantastically decorated grottos etc to.

dementedma · 23/11/2012 22:40

Ours will go up December 15th

bedmonster · 23/11/2012 22:42

Well if it's going to cheer you up then YADNBU!! It's way too early for me, can't contemplate it until at the most 7 - 10 days til Xmas (and it comes down on the 26th because we always go on holiday then!) but each to their own. Who's going to tell you YABU though? If it's what your family want then go for it!

apostropheuse · 23/11/2012 22:43

Clangy balls?

Well anyone who has clangy balls should probably shouldn't be hanging them on their tree.

It's just not the done thing.

Wallison · 23/11/2012 22:44

I'm sure you can get cream for that.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 23/11/2012 22:44

I did mine earlier.
Picked ds up from school and had the tree up with lights tis the boring bit
Yule log and mince pies on the table, Christmas music on and the decorations ready in a tub!
Ds and dd were made up.
After doing the tree we had hot choc with cream and watched The Snowman.
I normally put the tree up on the 1st of December but I am really busy for the next couple of weeks. excuses, excuses
:o

Glitterknickaz · 23/11/2012 22:45

It is if you spray them silver Grin

Figgygal · 23/11/2012 22:45

Sorry but it is not Xmas yet, anything up before december is ridiculous and imo chavvy

Yabu

apostropheuse · 23/11/2012 22:45

Oh Goldbergs had the best Christmas display ever. We went every year too. We even did the taxi thing like that advert. Take me to Goldbergs!

bedmonster · 23/11/2012 22:47

Oh, and meant to add, DDs friend and family had put theirs up on Monday, and DD received her first Xmas card from them too - I think it's flipping early (cards written already??? Who is THAT organised?) but i've put cards on my list so they can write them over the next 2 weeks ready to give out at the beginning of Dec.

CoolaSchmoola · 23/11/2012 22:49

Noooooo.... All I can think of is how absolutely filthy minging dirty dusty the tree and accoutrements will be by the time it actually gets to Christmas.

Six weeks of having it all gathering dust (how the fuck do you clean a Christmas tree?) is just grim.

Ours don't go up until the weekend after the 12th, on the Sunday, once I've spent Saturday cleaning like a demon.

Father Christmas doesn't sneeze in my house Grin.

apostropheuse · 23/11/2012 22:50

*glitternickaz"

If you sprayed your balls silver you would be all coordinated.

I suppose that might be allowed.

But only in December, the month that Christmas actually occurs.

bedmonster · 23/11/2012 22:51

Coola Accoutrements?!?!?! (I do know what it means, just never heard it used to describe Xmas tree tat!!!)

CoolaSchmoola · 23/11/2012 22:51

Just like to point out the "don't" in "Ours don't go up" refers to decorations plural, not just a tree. That would be "doesn't"....

A few years ago we put ours up in November

I'd been diagnosed with cancer the previous November so we'd had a shit Christmas and a horrible year following

We put it up early and we loved it, go for it

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 23/11/2012 22:53

My The Snowman snowglobe lives on my kitchen windowsill all year round.

And I haven't put my tree up. (Not till after my DS birthday)

Wink

So yes. YABU (with Christmas Bells on) Grin

CoolaSchmoola · 23/11/2012 22:53

bed - what can I say? I like words - and that one is a particularly fine example that should be used far more often. (Not sure my ILs would agree, they don't seem to understand a lot of what I say hehehe!)
