when the road is busy, they sense a gap on one side then edge out stopping traffic until some poor driver has to stop (usually quickly) to let them out.

i know roads are very busy nowadays but get so mad at people doing this automatically now without even waiting for a gap.

YANBU but people are really bad at letting others out. Sometimes there is just no other way to do it. If everyone was a bit more considerate there wouldn't be a problem.

I just drive around them even if it means going into the other lane slightly! I was taught to drive around obstacles but to make sure u give way to oncoming traffic if the obstacle is on your side. So if possible I go right around. If people wait politely then they get flashed to come out, if they are rude and try and force their way out then they don't have any luck unless it is really impossible not to let them go.
