AIBU to think WTAF or should I be amazed at such an ingenious idea and start gathering 'things' to glue to my children?

Grin I wonder if it hurts if they pull it off?

ClippedPhoenix · 20/11/2012 15:36

Not sure i want to glue "things" to DS but I'd like to glue his gob shut sometimes.

I would however like to staple all amounts of things to my bosses head Grin

Justforlaughs · 20/11/2012 15:38

I've taped my DH's mouth shut with Ductape once! I think that hurt when he pulled it off Blush. Not convinced by gluing items to my DCs unless it's their keys/ mobile phones and other essentials that they seem to mislay all the time!

dexter73 · 20/11/2012 15:38

It?s never too early to be girlie.
Hmm

HariboObsessed · 20/11/2012 15:45

I would quite like to glue my DD's shoes on.

OP posts:
dexter73 · 20/11/2012 15:46

Actually it would have been good when my dd was a baby as she would whip off socks, hat, gloves as soon as we left the house. I should have superglued them to her!

HariboObsessed · 20/11/2012 15:48

Maybe IABU actually and should embrace this.

I could glue a hat on DS' head. That might make him keep it on...

HariboObsessed · 20/11/2012 15:59

babyccinokids.com/blog/2012/11/06/girlie-glue/

Just read the above about it. The woman who created it did so because she 'tried using KY to stick things in their hair but it was the wrong consistency'

WHAT.

Is anyone else reminded of that bit in 'Scrooged' where he tells the guy to staple the antlers to the mice?

LondonInHighHeeledBoots · 20/11/2012 16:34

I need that stuff to glue my coffee cup to my hand, I spend a good 40% of my life wandering round confused saying 'Has anyone seen where I put my cup?'

crunchernumber · 20/11/2012 16:36

I thought this was going to be a thread where I could confess my wish to staple DS's gloves to his wrists (YES in Scrooged fashion Wink)

I see real people are even more weird. Confused.

Why, would you do it. Why?

And how embarrassed would you be that you were so keen to make your baby look like an Easter Egg you were prepared to purchase specialist glue Confused

OTheHugeManatee · 20/11/2012 16:58

I was just imagining attaching random objects. A bunch of Allen keys, say, or jam jar lids.

As art, like.

specialmagiclady · 20/11/2012 18:20

I have to confess to being s bit disappointed with the link. I was expecting things like this but on a baby not a cup.

hugoagogo · 20/11/2012 18:29

dexter beat me to it.

What a stoopid idea Hmm

plutocrap · 20/11/2012 18:47

KY jelly?! Ohhh, I finally get to write WTAF! Confused

HecatePropylaea · 20/11/2012 18:50

I can't imagine being so desperate to decorate my child that I try to stick things onto them with some sort of water soluble glue. Let alone bloody KY jelly! [boggle]

How odd! Grin

freddiefrog · 20/11/2012 18:52

Actually, I wouldn't mind glueing lunch boxes, homework, school bags, etc to my eldest daughter

thebody · 20/11/2012 18:52

Yes as a reception class TA I would like to glue every book bag, glove, hat and jumper to every child and then glue the gobs shut of the daft mothers who complain that these things are lost but hadn't bothered to label them.

HariboObsessed · 20/11/2012 19:05

Hecate - my thoughts exactly.

Magic lady only just clicked your link. You could try it I guess!

Cruncher - Easter egg babies ! Grin

Hang on, something's wrong. Where's HoneyDragon with an anecdote about how this accidentally happened honest guv? Confused Wink

3b1g · 20/11/2012 20:34

I have heard of a friend of a friend (so probably urban myth) who was so fed up with her primary school age boys losing their school jumpers that she sewed the jumpers to the school shirts.

Teafairy · 20/11/2012 20:38

Weird!! Takes all sorts I guess, but totally don't get the appeal myself! Have visions now of small girls with heads like this when their Mums get glue fever! Grin

HariboObsessed · 20/11/2012 20:44

Does ANYONE get this desperate to put things in their children's hair? I don't think I've ever even given it a second thought. I assume if I tried, they would eat/snort/break anything I even attempted to do this with. The second link also shows that you can glue moustaches on your DS. another thing I've sat up late at night and dreamt of doing.
