I always thought he was dire, but he is on something I am watching(old clip)

Just said same thing to DH - are you watching Stones programme? Just watching some bloke sing 'under my thumb' on a children's programme - really appropriate!

InNeedOfBrandy · 18/11/2012 00:07

Flash Back! My mum loved him and his hats.

threesocksmorgan · 18/11/2012 00:08

He spent all his dough on cars and coke.

Everythingsgoingtitsup · 18/11/2012 00:11

He couldn't keep up the double life and reverted to being Peter Duncan full time.

AudrinaAdare · 18/11/2012 00:22

"My mum loved him and his hats"

I'm only forty and was a whippersnapper when I first saw Jay Kay.

InNeedOfBrandy · 18/11/2012 00:27

My mums 46 Grin

AudrinaAdare · 18/11/2012 00:38

Oh I may have met your mother at a INeed Grin

InNeedOfBrandy · 18/11/2012 00:41

I will show her the video Grin she certainly has some of those moves down to a tee!

AmberLeaf · 18/11/2012 00:44

He didn't spend all of his money on cars and coke, he is still very rich.

2blessed2bstressed · 18/11/2012 00:48

I used to know a policeman who arrested him for speeding once!

bananaistheanswer · 18/11/2012 00:49

He had a failed comeback not so long ago. I vaguely remember he was being a smart arse and being very disparaging (sp?) about the evil of xfactor (not an unreasonable stance) but then performed on said evil programme trying to promote himself/his new muzak, and came across as an utter twat in the process. Or something along those lines. I remember the moving sofas video. Ground breaking that was. Ahem.

BOFingSanta · 18/11/2012 00:53

His first hit was when I was at university. A guy I knew there had been mates with him, and said he was a right sleazy dickhead, getting blowjobs off groupies even before he got famous.

AudrinaAdare · 18/11/2012 00:59

The first time I saw him was on one of those Sunday afternoon T.V shows for young people just waking up and he had only had one or two successful records. He was talking about having two classic cars that he wasn't allowed to drive because he had just lost his licence.

It was

Coke, you say? Grin

squoosh · 18/11/2012 01:26

Colossal wanker.

I remember his X Factor appearance, none of the judges appluaded him as he'd slagged them all off.

Strange to think he went out with Denise van Outen for years and years.

InSPsFanjoNoOneHearsYouScream · 18/11/2012 01:46

Hes probably sitting around waiting to go in to the next celeb big brother or into next year's jungle.

AudrinaAdare · 18/11/2012 01:50

Argh, C&P fail, it was fresh-faced bollocks-chatting young Jay Kay I meant to link.

Jalopeno · 18/11/2012 02:04

Watch him act like a total twat in this clip. Very funny in the end...

Should link now

AmberLeaf · 18/11/2012 03:07

You know he's worth £40million?

I don't think he'll be on any reality shows any time soon!

SucksToBeMe · 18/11/2012 03:09

I think he lives in buckinghamshire but I cannot back that up!! I've seen him in Henley a few times.

mumblechum1 · 18/11/2012 03:11

He lives near us. Also the drummer lives across the lane from us (nice guy, usually mistaken for my dh as they look v similar) and the guy from Sony who discovered him lives in the next village.

It's bloody Jamiroquoivillle Alabama here.

arghhhmiddleage · 18/11/2012 03:14

Busy polishing his cars I reckon. And possibly cataloging his hats.

SucksToBeMe · 18/11/2012 03:18

Do you you live in buckinghamshire Mumbles? Grin

arghhhmiddleage · 18/11/2012 03:28

Unless he's really gone OTT on the coke, he's probably living happily off the PRS along with the polishing and cataloguing

I think most people involved in the music industry realise that unless they go on to write or produce for others, they are unlikely to be nailing the charts right up to retirement age. I imagine he probably has an easier life than I do Envy
