Is that rude?

Usually stay for a drink and chat, but feeling ill today, looooong day at work and I need to get some stuff done in the house, and pick up a parcel and open the Wine asap!

MIL looked a bit put out last time I scooped up child, thanked her and then left

Oh yeah - and I've also got the traffic to contend with :(

15 minutes for a cup of coffee and a quick chat wouldn't hurt would it,she has done you a favour. Smile

Anniegetyourgun · 16/11/2012 14:27

Hopefully MIL will understand if you explained you've had the day from hell and need to get away quickly but promise a longer stay/chat next time and do actually follow through with that

ihavenofuckingclue · 16/11/2012 14:28

You could say 'i would stay but.....'

can't you?

girlywhirly · 16/11/2012 16:25

Just say you're not feeling well and that is why you can't stay. but will stay longer next time.

RandomMess · 16/11/2012 16:27

Let her know in advance you're really not feeling well and could she do you a huge favour and have x ready to go. Will at least give them warning what is going on?

newmummytobe79 · 16/11/2012 18:06
