I am clearing out some clothes on Ebay, One dress, a good modern designer one with very little wear, sold for £20 plus postage.

It had some light marks on the front which were visible in the photo. The description didnt mention them as they were clear for all to see even without using the zoom feature. I did say 'worn only a few times' whoch is quite true, I only wore it about three times if that.

The buyer now wants a refund as s/he feels the price went higher than it would;ve done had the marks been described in the listing. But they bid that price having seen the photo whoch did clearly show the marks!

WWYD? Do I have to accept it back or give a refund? They can have a couple of quid off if they want I suppose but really it is the buyers responsibility to LOOK at what they bidding on!

refund - you should have mentioned the marks - she could have thought it was a fault with the picture

agree with gordy. offer a partial refund. if you do it through paypal you'll get a partial refund on the fee too. say it's 'for goodwill' if you don't offer refunds on your listing.

YABU I'm afraid. If there are marks, I'd expect you to write that in the description and take a good photo so that the buyer can determine how bad they are.

Sometimes people take photos that have flash bounce or shadows on them so you couldn't assume it was the garment or the camera.

I would offer a few quid off and next time be more specific.

People are tough consumers on EBay.

You have to give a refund, you didn't mention the marks in the listing and you should have.

I agree with gordy. It's good practise to describe any faults fully, and to take extra photographs to show them clearly.

You should have mentioned the marks. The quality of the photographs is lamentable on many listings so I'd have assumed it was another example of dodgy photography in the absence of any explanatory comment. I'd give the refund and relist the item with a proper description.

I mention any marks in the description. And show them on an additional photograph. Your buyer is within their rights to ask for a refund. I'd take action now as if she takes it further I suspect you will lose out.

She has every right to ask for a refund u didt mention the marks within he description therefore you were in he wrong! For all u no this woman cud have been as blind as a bat

YABU. You should always cover your back and explicitly mention ANY marks at all. A partial refund is only fair.

Yes why didn't you mention the marks? Can we see a photo? I have seen things on Ebay and sometimes, light looks like marks....so you check to see if the seller has mentioned any stains...if they don't, then you TEND to assume the garment is clean.

I agree with everyone else - you should have mentioned the marks in the description with a close up photos to show them clearly. If I was the seller I would expect the offer of a full refund (who wants to keep a stained dress?!) or i would open a dispute.

Are the marks easily get outble? Is the dress actually wearable?
