just in case you reversed the car and forgot ( just a little bit) to open them first?

How bad is the damage to your car? Grin

Bareley noticeable, thank goodness.

If we have the technology to land a space thingy on Mars you'd think the boffins could come up with some sort of spring loaded hinge system for a garage door?

No? Just me then?

The boffins came up with a solution to your problem they designed the Toyota Prius with you in mind, it not only has a large screen on the dash board that shows you what is behind you, it beeps at you to make you aware that you are about to hit something, and the car also applies the breaks if the gap gets too small.

they invented reversing warning beepers and mirrors... Grin

Ah yes, squeaky, but the reversing sensors only work at a low level - not much good when you are reversing your bus MPV out of the garage with the tailgate open...

oops! Grin
