I am planning on retiring to a canal barge. Much more sedate than a camper van and BastardDog could run alongside on the towpath.

I am always slightly disappointed when I walk past barges and someone is sat there watching Loose Women. For some some reason I think bargees should be doing something more erudite.

HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 08:53

I loved our van but was too big.

Strangely, we nearly bought one at the weeked, twas on ebay, a converted delivery van thing...the lure is strong.

Tifty you will have great times.

From this thread I have learned:

Tufty has a campervan, and that is excellent
MaryZ has lots of great advice about campervans in general
scottishmummy wrote a post that was more than 3 lines long Shock
BIWI wins prizes for succinct summaries
No one really gives a toss about Moldies, who are yesterday's news & very dull
Pag shagged daftpunk (or was shagged by her)
And everyone on MN is just lovely

Ermm, that's all, folks. Unless I've missed anything.

seeker · 13/11/2012 09:44

I have a camper van too. And a thing

MrsWembley · 13/11/2012 09:53

Hello Hully, you old devil.
I wish I had a campervan.
OTOH I can't drive, so would be a bit pointless.
A friend of mine has one and it has v nice curtains.

Early morning on a deserted French campsite high in the alps with a river with white stones and mint green water and fresh croissants on order at the campsite shop...

And the sun coming up behind the snow-capped mountains, and filtering through leaves ....

HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 10:32

No no

The sun has to be up a bit otherwise it's bloody FREEZING

Ah, yes, but aren't you inside your warm van, peeping out between the curtains, wearing a onesie and wrapped in a slanket.

Which is of course the definition of middle-aged camping Grin

HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 10:44

No you are by the river with hot coffee feeling the cool nip of early morning air cut through the warm coffee steam.

MaryZezItsOnlyJustNovember · 13/11/2012 10:50

Oh, ok.

ExitPursuedByABrrrrrrr · 13/11/2012 11:22

I don't like coffee.

FellowshipOfFestiveFellows · 13/11/2012 11:29

I want in on some campervan action with my massive tent. There is space for 4 others who are without cmapervans, but bring your own gin though. I don't mind the cold of a campsite when its not drizzly and grey, can be quite refreshing as you nip to the toilet block and grab some bacon on the way back for a roll. Lush

SantasStrapOn · 13/11/2012 12:14

Can we do an MN Camper Convoy? I am sorely torn between Maryz, Tufty, and Hully's campervans, and I simply can't choose.

HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 12:15

I don't have one

But I will again one day

FellowshipOfFestiveFellows · 13/11/2012 13:01

Hully if you own a sleeping bag, you can share my tent?

HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 13:04

Oh that is kind.

Can we roast marshmallows and drink rum? I have a hip flask.

My MIL has just bought this Lilliputian campervan and I am aching to go somewhere in it.

Look at it! motorhomes.autotrader.co.uk/used-motorhomes/romahome/citroen-c15/1995-romahome-citroen-c15-diesel-economical-hightop-compact-micro-camper-diesel-halifax-mfpa-8ab2a34239b1042d0139ce2fb3bf1ba3/makemodel/make/romahome It's so small and daft looking.

FellowshipOfFestiveFellows · 13/11/2012 13:16

Hully indeed. And sing camp fire songs

Thats very nice there Mother, am jealous of its tiny but yet spacious size.

HullyEastergully · 13/11/2012 13:23

MORRIS - you sined up for meet up yet? GO PAY
