OP posts:
scottishmummy · 12/11/2012 18:43

because you op had bad experience online and get hurt in online relationships doesn't negate my opinion
imo need to have an Internet savvy and emotional resilience online, protect self
if any forum affects you so much I'd advise you do need to learn to self regulate

MaryZezItsOnlyJustNovember · 12/11/2012 18:43

here you are

RandallPinkFloyd · 12/11/2012 18:46

Did you get a pm too AF? Crikey Shock

SantasStrapOn · 12/11/2012 18:47

Is sm on the right thread? Hmm

I long for a campervan. Blue, with CK awning and curtains. I would travel round the country with LittleDog and the MagnifiFailCats, trying out all the beaches.

LadyBeagle · 12/11/2012 18:52

We used to have candlewick bedspreads when I was a kid.
I loved picking out all the little threads out.

oh less of the humphy faceHmm initially my thread showed biwi as 1st post.op
I think moldies was histrionics about who's bestie with whom
and the faux ssshhh don't discuss adds to it's mystique,it was actually dull online spat

LadyBeagle · 12/11/2012 18:57

But what's your opinion on candlewick bedspreads sm?

FellowshipOfFestiveFellows · 12/11/2012 18:57

santa sm is rarely on the same wavelength as anyone else.
Candlewick bedspreads remind me of The Waltons.

SantasStrapOn · 12/11/2012 19:00

And where is LB's Eye?

LDNmummy · 12/11/2012 19:01

scottishmummy confirms what I thought about actually just being a pretty dull event in reality (unless it actually involved you personally, then I think it was probably pretty hurtful).

But honestly scottishmummy, a whole thread has been started to disprove your theory that it is all 'just words on a screen' before. Obviously a lot of people disagree with you.

FreddieMercurysBolero · 12/11/2012 19:01

'Dull online spat'.

I like that SM. Turned into the stuff of legend via excessive nose tapping, winking and PMs that never existed.

NotQuiteWithItAtAll · 12/11/2012 19:04

i just cannot stop reading all this moldies stuff, it really is quite damn exciting! (although i have no idea what is going on/what it's about)
2 day's of my life, i shall never get back. But my god is it worth it! I think it's the mystery that is keeping me hooked.

TuftyFinch · 12/11/2012 19:17

Sarah, mine will be a going to the beach camper. With brown dog. Maybe DC if they're good.

AnyFucker · 12/11/2012 19:18

Randall I did, and I thought I was the only one

I am bereft. It wasn't a pm though, I was invited as a mumsnet Mate (if that was the correct term...anybody remember them ?) so that i could view a range of < ahem > poses

< sniff >

BIWI · 12/11/2012 19:21

Actually, scottishmummy, I agree with you. The whole moldies thing, if nothing else, was a very good lesson about not getting too invested in 'tinternet, and assuming that people are your friends. Very wise to step back a little.

flow4 · 12/11/2012 19:27

What the FLYING fuck is going on?!
You're all making it up as you go along, aren't you? Wink Grin
Like MN Mornington Crescent...

SantasStrapOn · 12/11/2012 19:35

Will it have CK curtains and awning Tufty?

Oblomov · 12/11/2012 19:36

'just words on a screen'
'Dull online spat'.

I think comments like that are incredibly dismissive and totally totally offensive.

"not getting too invested in 'tinternet, and assuming that people are your friends"

But that too treats people like they are idiots and thought that people were their 'friends'. But you didn't have to think of these people as 'friends', to be hurt by them. So, thats not true either.
It was a nasty nasty saga. Really bitchy and 2 faced and so incredibly nasty.
Lots of people were hurt.
And Justine was very hurt by it all too. Very upset.
Are you dismissive of her feelings and think she is an idiot too?
No. Me neither.

VivaLeBeaver · 12/11/2012 19:37

My campervan was blue, with stripey curtains and an upstairs. Me an dd travelled the UK world sleeping in beach carparks all over. Them were the days.

BIWI · 12/11/2012 19:38

I'm not being dismissive of anyone's feelings, Oblomov. I was very hurt at the time. But it was a useful lesson for me, not to assume everyone was as they seemed, IYSWIM.

It certainly wasn't just 'words on a screen', nor was it 'dull' or just a 'spat'

It was incredibly nasty.

MrsWembley · 12/11/2012 19:41

No-one talks to me so I'd never get upset by 'words on a screen', rather the lack of them...

Sad
Absy · 12/11/2012 19:45

I feel so left out. I never got any glamour pictures from ANY Mners Sad

I'm reading an MN guide - apparently Paggy was going to learn Italian on Mat Leave. I wonder how that worked out ...

Francagoestohollywood · 12/11/2012 19:52

Not many people talk to me either and I certainly wasn't upset back then.I had no reasons to be. But it was quite shocking to see people getting so hurt, also because MN was smaller then and the majority of names were more familiar than they are now.

FreddieMercurysBolero · 12/11/2012 19:53

Sorry BIWI, for being flip, it was just the turn of phrase I liked, easy to forget on the interweb that people's feelings were hurt. It is a rubbish feeling to be treated like that by people you thought were friends:(

HELLO WEMBLEY! Noone ever talks to moi either, I just witter on regardless.
