are no more?

DH and I were discussing the all important topic of chocolates for Christmas. We have a tin of Roses but between 5 adults/proto adults these wont go far (especially as the size of the tin has reduced).

So we were discussing what to bulk them out with. Brightly I said 'Neapolitan Chocolates'. However a quick search suggests that they are no more.

AIBU to think that someone should have told me so that I could have stock-piled.

I had to google them as never heard of them! is it these?

BrokenBananaTantrum · 10/11/2012 21:47

:O they really should have told us that. I used to really like them.

YDdraigGoch · 10/11/2012 21:47

What????!!!
Is this a recent thing?

Bogeyface · 10/11/2012 21:48

Urgh! They were gopping!

Far better to just buy another tin!

VivaLeBeaver · 10/11/2012 21:48

They've been defunct for years. I luffed them muchly. They remind me of my grandad.

VivaLeBeaver · 10/11/2012 21:50

They were made by Terry's. different colours were different flavours. Mocha were horrible.

I used to love those! Sad times.

VirginiaDare · 10/11/2012 21:54

If you haven't tried to buy any in the last 7 years, you can't like them that much!

wildfig · 10/11/2012 21:55

Evil Kraft, killing off Neapolitans. As a rural child, I never even realised coffee came in two flavours - viz, 'plain' and 'au lait' - apart from in a Neapolitans box.

MaggotMummy · 10/11/2012 21:57

Those bastards at Kraft did for them!

Anonymumous · 10/11/2012 21:59

I'd forgotten about them! We used to have them every Christmas when I was a child. I seem to remember being rather partial to the orange ones... mmm...

MrsCantSayAnything · 10/11/2012 22:01

Vintage Neapolitan advert

wildfig · 10/11/2012 22:06

Sad Kraft would only bring them back now if they were 'co-branded' with some other foodstuff to make Neapolitan-Pork Scratchings or some such other hideous Frankensnack Dairy Milk Philadelphia.

lovelyladuree · 10/11/2012 22:06

I'm sure M&S do something similar to them. Or did I dream that?

BraaaaaainsButterfield · 10/11/2012 22:07

I remember feeling like the Cafe au lait was just the most sophisticated thing there could be - it was coffee flavour and in French!

NamingOfParts · 10/11/2012 23:02

DH has suggested we get a tin of Quality Streets and mix them in but we both suspect that no matter how well mixed they will separate overnight.

OP posts:
Bogeyface · 10/11/2012 23:31

No Quality Street! Totally ignoring the Nestle boycott, QS taste like shit!

NamingOfParts · 11/11/2012 00:25

Thank the lord for small mercies, I thought I was the only one who thought that about Quality Street!

To be honest, Raspberry Ruffles are the only chocolate confectionery anyone needs at Christmas.
