To ask you to tell me that immaculate conception isn't possible? (TMI, embarrassing and GRIM)

OK, so maybe not immaculate. In fact if conception occurred it was v v messy indeed.

Background. DH and I have 5 DC, 12, 9, 7, 2 and 6mo. Youngest was induced 6 weeks early due to liver difficulties that have escalated for my last 3 pg. He had an awful time and was in HDU with breathing difficulties, jaundice, excessive weight loss. He is on the up now but watching him go through that reaffirmed my decision not to have more DC (as if we weren't sure anyway!) so as not to put another baby through such an iffy start.

So DH went for the snip, we are a week away from first semen test and have been super super careful using condoms. So far so responsible.

About 11 days ago we decided to venture into "back door territory" and the plan was for him to whip it out before the big moment and finish elsewhere. Well it was an enlightening experience, culminating in DH removing the tool a fraction too late followed by a series of loud comical farts that left us collapsed in fits of giggles. The more I giggled the more farts came out, which prolonged the giggling. There was mess. Lots of it, but I wasn't worried as it was all over the border from fanjoland so to speak... washed up and went to bed having disposed of my last remaining shred of dignity and both of us resolving to leave the potting of the brown forever in the realms of the unspoken.

But now I'm late. Due on the 7th and no signs so far. Early days I know, but it's been like clockwork since DS2 arrived. It can't be though can it? Aside from the obvious misplacement of the necessary materials, surely even if sperm are still present it should be a low enough count to make it unlikely this long after the snip?

I KNOW I KNOW you have to wait for 2 tests to be clear before resuming unprotected intercourse but it just seems.so unlikely that IF there are still some there they have managed to find their way from my arse/back to my cervix?? Are their homing beacons that good?? Did my farts propel them over the border?

Oh god I am frantic...

So AIBU to ask you to tell me I'm being a stupid arse and it's not possible? It's twofold unlikely right? Sorry if I've ruined anyone's breakfast!

MissPants · 11/11/2012 04:30

Well I may be a minx but I am not a pregnant one. 4am POAS says no. Again. Still no sign of AF.

So currently a very Confused minx.

Looks like a trip to the GP this week for an investimugation, in the words of DD2.

I once had a cucumber at the back of my fridge that froze solid, I decided to keep it on the basis of it being a possible weapon against burglars. When DH and I were dating he was extremely interested in why I kept a frozen cucumber permanently in my fridge Grin

When we moved in together though he made me throw it away on the basis that a burglar would probably not wait for me to reach my armoury the fridge before attacking. We spent many a drunken hour debating its usefulness, but in the end Mr Cucumber ended up going floppy in the bin Sad

Fortunately, the special people knoe who they are xx

I fucking love you, Gumbo :DDDDDD

Tee2072 · 11/11/2012 07:10

Well, there you go then. Have you been ill or stressed about anything? That can delay things.

Still a great thread, though. Grin

bedmonster · 11/11/2012 07:33

wewereherefirst · 11/11/2012 08:18

Congratulations. Please don't be too sad for missing out on a double page spread in Take a Break.

But seriously, hope AF appears soon and this thread can go down into Classics.

ShipwreckedAndComatose · 11/11/2012 10:53

But, lets face it, the odds were in your favour Grin

MrsWhoGivesaShit · 11/11/2012 11:19

Aww, poor pooby. Grin

Youcanringmybell · 11/11/2012 12:22

I propose that you should in fact take a stool sample to the GP rather than a urine sample.

After all.....it is a pooby.

FeckOffWithYourXmasBollocks · 11/11/2012 12:53

Well, that's an anticlimax!

TheOneWithTheHair · 11/11/2012 12:54

Aww no pooby. Congrats op.

Sallyingforth · 11/11/2012 13:59

Looks like a trip to the GP this week for an investimugation, in the words of DD2

You've been discussing this with your daughter ??????

MissPants · 11/11/2012 14:03

Ah FeckOff I do wish I could say I'm sorry to disappoint but I'd be lying Grin

As amusing as this whole thing has been an actual Pooby would have been in trouble health wise so whatever the problem is I am relieved that Pooby will not be dragged into it.

Also relieved that I don't have to explain a pregnancy to my DMIL!

MissPants · 11/11/2012 14:05
