My h has been invited to a stag weekend by a good friend. The weekend in question is the birthday weekend of our turning-9yo dd. He's chosen the stag do.

This means he misses most of the day itself (Sunday) and the night of the sleepover party (Friday night).

So AIBU to think he should've said no?

Think sleepovers are better than parties, though - well, I think that now..!

Wasn't expecting such loveliness on AIBU, thank you all - I am a lucky person.

Just to update in case anyone is interested... The sleepover went really well, for them and for me. She loved her actual birthday, too. H's flight was delayed, so thanks JM for the advice to plan something in case; he got home at 6pm, so could've been worse. We had a lovely day without him in any case.

Oh and he had a miserable weekend!!

How on earth did he have a miserable weekend on a Stag Do - me think he doth protest too much Grin

Depends why / if he felt he had to say he had a miserable time...

I think the problem was that they didn't do what he wanted them to do... Bit controlling, my h...

But yes, also good at complaining...

You mean the rest of the party didn't do what your husband wanted to do? Who was in charge of organising it and wasn't there a plan in advance?
