To want to kill the next person who asks me when I am going to have another child?

DS is two. I have been asked so often when I am going to have another one I could scream. Of course, it doesn't help that we've been trying for a year now and AF came today.

Why are people so bliddy rude/nosey/thoughtless/lacking in social skills? As if I'd tell them anyway.

I don't think iabu, though probably giving a death stare rather than actually killing them would be fairer.

Aaa argh!

mmmerangue - perhaps your right the 'when' is oddly presumptive way to phrase the question.

For what it's worth, I normally give the answer 'not sure, time will tell...'. It depends on who is asking really. I might say ' wouldn't mind, but I'm getting older, might have missed the boat' and close friends know we are trying anyway (though this doesn't seem to stop the 'ooh, I got pregnant first try' comments).

At the end of the day there are plenty of conversation starters with people that don't involve treading into potentially sensitive areas. I just don't see the need for asking the question.

People started asking me this question the first time they saw DD (5mo) Hmm. I would then launch into how DD spent the first week of her life in SCBU after having the cord around her neck has scared the shit out of me and that with DSS1 & 2 living with us there's no room in the house for any more!!

Seriously though, DD and her brothers are enough, and no, I'm happy only having one of "my own".
