You should stop fucking moaning when you find it difficult to park your car?

Our street only has houses on one side. The last five if thirteen are built up away from the toad so don't even have road outside them - does that make sense?

8 or do months ago one of them was let to a single girl who works as a HCA in a hospital and therefore works shifts. She is a really inconsiderate parker at the best of times, but at the moment we have tiadeorks in the street that is taking up a lot of available parking spaces. She has several times parked sink considerately that she has all but blocked the road, and did so just now when we were all out front with sparklers. DH politely suggested she move her car to stop it getting damaged and she went off on a rant about how she has to 'fight to park' and doesn't want to park at the top of the hill as she would have to walk to her house (50m?) in the dark, and it's too far away from her house, etc.

Several of us have kids, my dd is disabled, and it's really inconvenient to have to park far away but I swear we don't whinge as much as this miserable, entitled, perfectly able bodied and dependent-free girl. Who chose to rent a house without even road outside to park on.

AIBU to want to kill her? I just had to abandon the party to stop myself telling her to shut the fuck up.

YANBU, but that won't change her selfish behaviour.

Maybe it was the only house she could afford? Maybe she'd been house hunting for a year? We have no parking either and I'll moan about it till the cows come home. Sometimes when you look in your price range there isn't a lot of choice so YABU. No one would choose to have a house with no parking if they own a car so lets assume she had no choice.

If she pays tax that pays for all the roads, you don't own the road just because it is outside your house. If she was parking in your private drive that is wrong but if she is on a public road she has as much right to park there as you or me or anyone else.

Maybe she feels anxious about walking 50m in the dark if she is starting or ending her shift very late.

Well, she certainly shouldn't have to move her car because of sparklers and you shouldn't have been so close with the sparklers that it was at risk of being damaged. Lots and lots of areas have insufficient parking now because there are too many cars on the streets - and yes, I guess some people need a space close to their house more than others: but I think yabu.

When you moved into your house did you not think about lack of parking being a potential problem?

Actually I think you might be being a bit unreasonable re her parking on the road generally. Unless there are specifically set parking spaces,she has as much right to park as you do.

However YANBU with regard to her generally parking inconsiderately. I have to put up with this from my neighbours. It makes my blood boil but there's nothing I can do about it except key their cars when I eventually move except put up with it...grudgingly.

Yanbu if she's blocking the road! But all the house have equal right to park on the road

Even if you know a house has a compromise such as no parking you may not realise how annoying it will be until you live with it so YABU about that.

However YANBU about inconsiderate parking. I work somewhere with very little parking and using it properly requires people to park well. It drives me mad to see people parked over two(or sometimes three!) spaces.

Yes, same as people who live near pubs / schools / shops know that they are there when they move, but until they live there they don't truly know how it will affect them, so I can't blame anyone for having a wee grumble

If she was blocking the road then YANBU. If you just don't like her parking near your "bit" then that's tough.

YABU - it's not your private car parking space.

But if you have a disabled parking space outside your house (do you?) then you'd not be unreasonable.

Well, you don't own the road, so she can park where she wants. I used to live somewhere like this, my house didn't have anywhere to park outside, and for some reason the people who lived on the wider bit of road thought it belonged to them.

You all bought houses with no parking why is she any different to you?

Although to be fair to the OP, her complaint about the driver, is that she parks inconsiderably and has on occasion blocked the road. Not that she parks outside her house.

Op you said your DC is disabled have you ever thought of applying for a disabled bay close to your home.

But if there is a spot available then she has every right to park there.
