It's not OK to put your dog crap in my wheelie bin

The bin men have changed our collection time its now late afternoon. DD2 and I went to the post office and when we came back bin emptied. All good so far. DD2 asks are we going to take the bin in but because I couldn't be arsed to wash my hands yet again, I said no leave it. Then I forgot about it until next morning.

Next morning went to retrieve bin and throw a black sack in and there in the bottom was ...... a package of dog poo.

Why?

If I wanted dog poo in my bin, I'ld have my own bloody dog. I am now the custodian of poop for a week. Why should I be just because I didn't take my bin in quick enough.

I suspect it was the woman who deliberately brings her greyhounds to the small greenward in front of my house to let her dogs have a crap and piss up the cherry trees. She lives about 2 minutes walk away. I suppose the doggy brigade will say be thankful she bags her dogs poo. So why then be so inconsiderate as to dump it in my bin.

Yes I'm annoyed.

I don't think it's directed at me, Tantrum.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 18:13

My binmen could get dog poo on them.

So people can throw poo in your bin, Tantrum, but not in mine, as it would be a health hazard.

FromEsme · 02/11/2012 18:13

I'm not losing my sense of humour. I am losing my will to live though.

What the arse are you talking about that bin men are still counted as people? It sort of sounds like you're trying to suggest that some people don't think that.

The bag MIGHT burst, but let's face it, it probably won't. Because you know when you put a binbag in your bin? And you then put other binbags on top? Have those bags often burst? Or have they normally just not? Because I don't think I've ever had a bin burst on me in my life.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 18:14

Health hazard?

Mmm hmm.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 18:14

Yes, I think people who don't mind council bin workers getting dog poo on them have a view about them which I don't share.

Unless you can guarantee that it won't then you shouldn't throw it in someone's bin.

FromEsme · 02/11/2012 18:15

You know, honestly, the binmen getting something on them is probably not going to be a massive surprise to them. The likelihood of the bag bursting AND the binman not noticing AND the poo therefore going on him is literally about zero.

And even if it did, they are wearing protective gear for a reason.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 18:16

Esme, you also think it's OK to get dog poo on bin men?

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 18:16

please show me where anyone said they were happy for bin men to get dog poo all over them

Brycie · 02/11/2012 18:16

Do you actually know any binmen? I suppose they are way beyond your radar.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 18:17

Littlebearpad and Esme are saying they expect it.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 18:18

Yes. And that does not mean that they are overjoyed at the thought at bin men having poo all over them.

And my step dad is a bin man.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 18:18

No - they are not overjoyed. But they don't care, and they think it's funny that anyone does care.

FromEsme · 02/11/2012 18:19

Actually Brycie I go around smearing binmen in shit regularly. Because I am upper class dontcha know?

Also I never said I expect binmen to get shit on them, because the likelihood of bag explosion is pretty much nil.

And beyond that where the fuck do you get off telling me that bin men are "beyond my radar"? You know fuck all about me, except that I couldn't give a shite about what goes in a bin.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 18:20

Oh dear god wind it in.

no one cares

LittleBearPad · 02/11/2012 18:20

I said they might expect to get rather dirty. Do you imagine they finish their shift and don't have a shower. It's kind of a given that in their work they will get dirty to some extent.

Marking place, this looks like a lovely bedtime read

I know now that you lose your equanimity rather suddenly.

I'm afraid you don't care about the possibility of getting dog poo on bin men and you mock people who think it's considerate not to risk it. You've been saying it for some time so there's little point in pretending otherwise.

LittleBearPad · 02/11/2012 18:21

And at no point did I say I didn't care

Brycie · 02/11/2012 18:21

My binmen carry the bags to the truck. They have contact with the rubbihs.

FromEsme · 02/11/2012 18:22

Ugh, I never said I DON'T CARE, I said the likelihood is that they are NOT GOING to.

Maybe I'll stop putting ANYTHING in a bin in case it goes on a bin man? Maybe I won't put meat in the bin? That's a safety hazard too. Maybe I won't put nappies in the bin? Or sanitary products? In case they explode all over a bin man and then I can stand at my door tittering at the working classes and how utterly hilarious they are even though I am working class.

Tantrums PLEASE ask your step dad where he stands on this burning issue.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 18:22

It's so frightfully tiresome when peple disagree with you isn't it?

Littlebear it must be lovely to get dog poo on you and then work in dog-poo clothes for six hours. I'm sure you'd enjoy it.

Brycie · 02/11/2012 18:23

No - dog poo - outside a bin bag - which can burst - is different.

TantrumsAndBalloons · 02/11/2012 18:23

brycie I appreciate that for whatever reason you have decided to make this your personal crusade.
However it's boring to the extreme trying to debate when someone just repeats the same thing over and over again.

I am going to have a drink.

Please feel free to throw your shit in my bin whilst I'm gone.

WhizzPopBangWheeee · 02/11/2012 18:24

How the heck do binmen get the contents of the bin on them? Genuine question, as all they do around her is literally wheel the bin to the truck. Then a mechanical thingy (technical, term that Smile does all the picking up for them.
