MAC cosmetics tests on animals !!

I am gutted to read that MAC has changed its animal testing policy and now tests on animals ! Surely in this day and age it is so not necessary. After all the progress that has been made over the years against animal testing , this seems to be a huge move backwards . Apparently to sell in the hugely lucrative market of china the law there demands all cosmetics sold there to be tested on animals. I am sure a lot of people are unaware of this policy change and what it means . The same goes for all the companies under the estée Lauder group . Shame on you !

I was happy to see Juice and Tarte are cruelty free..two of my favourite brands...

I had no idea ! They have always said they did not test on animals . Apparently the company statement from the Estée Lauder group that owns MAC was changed to say they did not test on animals 'except where required by law' =
This means we want to do business in china where it is law to test all cosmetics on animals. They make themselves sound so caring and try to pull the wool over our eyes! I think PETA put them on the cruelty to animals list this year 2012 . I was just looking for reviews for MAC new products when I saw the piece written on www.mybeautybunny.com about it.
