To think that if the doctor surgery opens at 8.30am

then it should bastarding well be open at 8.30 and not still closed at 9am with an answering maching message that states that it opens at 8.30am!

I'm on your behalf, that would wind me up too! (however, whilst writing this it occurred to me that maybe the person who usually opens up is suddenly ill or something, so I may be inclined to withhold my face until I knew the reason for it. If when it (eventually) opens they are very apologetic and nice about it, and there is a genuine reason for it then I'd be ok)

Apparently Brenda thought that Linda had switched off the telephone night service. And Linda thought Brenda had done it when, actually, no-one had done it

At least she didn't dare question me about my need for an urgent appointment and gave me one for 11am without first asking for proof that there is a limb hanging off or some other evidence that death is imminent. I would call them Rottweilers but that would be unkind to Rottweilers

My surgery is the opposite. Stupid first come first served policy. Opens at 8.30 but at 8.00am It's like the first day of the bloody Next sale!

So basically you have to queue up for at least half an hour, usually in the pissing rain, with a 2 year old with recurrent chest
infections.

That sounds like a crap system, Southern.

I know our surgery keeps a few 'emergency' appointments each day but if you don't get in at 8.30am, when the surgery supposedly opens, for one of them then the usual malingerers who turn up with every sniffle take them.
