Please don't slate me :) I'm just wondering if this would be wrong? She is a v good baby rarely cries unless tired or starving! I'm bfeeding so can't leave her with anyone she won't take a bottle of formula. I have an 8 an 4 yr old on the half term who desperately want to go and watch a kids film? Do I think it would be horrendous if I take bubbs too? If she cries I will slip out if we sit at the front I can have a quick escape ?

Come again?

3plus2 · 01/11/2012 16:37

Well I told the girls I may have to step out if the baby cries so we sat directly at the front next to the door they were happy with this my 8 yo would have probably stayed in there but 4yo would probably have come with me . I would have been right by the door .....

I think prudence may have escaped from somewhere... Or are you just bored dear?!

Errrrrrm?!!

3plus2 · 01/11/2012 16:41

Seriously it really wasn't that loud I have been to a very load film in an iMax screen and that was v v loud this didn't startle her at all ? Maybe they turned it down as it was for kiddies?

On the plus side I do have Dear Prudence in my head.

Which is notably better than da da dada dada da da circus da da dada dada da da afro that's been in my head most of today.

IneedAsockamnesty · 01/11/2012 16:43

all of my children have been going to the cinema regularly since birth, it has never been a problem for them at all,as long as you are prepared to leave the room if crying happens (it never has) then all will be well.

and not one person has ever so much as given me a look or moaned or anything. most people on leaving tend to do a bit of a double take and say stuff like "what a lovely quiet baby you have,i didnt even know he was in here"

prudencesmom · 01/11/2012 16:43

MrsK and TheD do you get nasty everytime someone has a different point of view to yours?

MrsKeithRichards · 01/11/2012 16:46

Oh I don't know prudence, not generally I would say. I'm quite open to some debate and discussions.

I think it might be your holier than thou passive aggressive ways that bring out the worst in me.

TheDetective · 01/11/2012 16:46

Not a different point of view, but accusing someone of not being real - then yes!

What on earth makes you think the OP is not real!

FUCKING AFRO. God help me. I thought I had blocked that out forever! NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

3plus2 · 01/11/2012 17:10

Lol I love the Afro circus song that's what the kids think

StuntGirl · 01/11/2012 19:09

But it is loud to a 3 month old baby OP. And no they don't turn the volume down for children's films; it's all one setting.

SandyChick · 01/11/2012 19:13

Ahh... Glad you all had fun Grin

We're taking ds1 at the weekend. He's been an excellent big brother this week helping me to look after his grumpy teething little brother.

GhostShip · 01/11/2012 19:14

No. Because if she starts crying you can't take her out because you can't leave the other children

LucyBorgia · 01/11/2012 19:45

Glad you had a fun time you did the right thing. Ignore the hysterics.

3plus2 · 01/11/2012 20:23

Well it wasn't vibrating booming loud and they wouldn't b alone I'm right by the door I could have seen them through the window ! It was Madagascar ? Anyone would think we were watching paranormal activity 4??

OP posts:
TheDetective · 01/11/2012 20:51

You can leave the other children - 8 year old is old enough to be in charge, if usually sensible.

You can take them out with you if needs be.

3plus2 · 01/11/2012 21:10

I think people are just getting petty now tbh all these goody goodies ! It's norm in the USA to take bubbs to the cinema but some people take things very seriously ! I'm glad I took them I paid my tickets she slept we didn't disturb anyone so plurgh !

OP posts:
Bigwheel · 01/11/2012 21:29

I would have gone and happily left a sensible 8 year old in charge of a 4 year old if the baby became overly distressed. Glad you all had a good time op.

prudencesmom · 02/11/2012 06:47

OP I dont know why you posted this thread. You clearly had doubts about what you did, and thats why you posted. You just want everyone to agree with you! You are pissed off cos not everyone thinks what you did was ok.
I thought your post was a joke cos you said the word bubbs.

3plus2 · 02/11/2012 12:48

Oh ffs what's wrong with u? There are way more ppl that didn't see it a problem then those who did ? Jees ! Y can't I say bubbs? Is that a problem too little miss Prudence?????

OP posts:
prudencesmom · 02/11/2012 14:04

FFS whats wrong with you begging not to be slated in your op then? That was cowardly and dumb.
You were going to go to cinema anyway, so it was really stupid of you to post your thread in the first place.

nipersvest · 02/11/2012 14:43

omg!, who knew taking kids to see a kids movie was quite so controversial?!

some of these posts make it sound like the op was planning parking her kids on the central reservation of a motorway so they could see the big trucks drive by.

HeeeresThing3 · 02/11/2012 16:44

Mumsnet is truely unbelievable at times, the op was taking her DC to a showing of a childrens film at the cinema not the opera or a swanky meal at a 5 star restuarant. FFS some people need to get a grip!

3plus2 I took both DD2 and DD3 to the cinema at a similar age. Both slept through without a problem and don't appear to have any hearing problems. They would disturb people more now at 4 and 2.

LucyBorgia · 03/11/2012 12:03

"Cowardly", "stupid" and "dumb" prudence? A little ott maybe? Having a tough day?
