Actually, no. I have a friend who's in a similar position (in the public eye, but not a showbiz personality or someone who courts publicity) and I've seen her being slagged off on here. It's upsetting, because I know she's lovely and I know she'd be hurt if she saw it, but I wouldn't say anything if the post didn't contain anything libellous or reportable. Free speech innit. I have, however, put the slaggers off on my Shit List and at some point they will RUE THE DAY

I do agree though that any one of us would pile in and defend our mumsnet mates if they were getting slagged off, and that's for people we may not have met. So I don't blame Sali for coming on to stick up for her real life friend. I think its pretty laudable actually. And I am not just saying that because I agree with Sali re Laura Mercier eyeshadows.

I also still stand that if a mumsnetter had said that about Liz J we would all have laughed like drains.

The fact that Sali Hughes reignited this zombie thread shows that IK has a book coming outknows it exists and that can only be a good thing. Perhaps she'll realise that she comes across as a total imbecile on Twitter. In these days where employers look at someone's social media profile before they get recruited, it always surprises me that these so-called slebs are prepared to make themselves look like such idiots with their outpourings and utter bile.

Recently, IK posted on Twatter how much she loves her kids in one post followed up by what a 'cunt' Barney the dinosaur is in the next one. I'm sure her kids just love reading her stream of consciousness. "hey kids, read this - it says how much I love you on Twitter!"

Just as an aside really, I'm sure its possible to love your children and think Barnie the dinosaur is a cunt. Otherwise almost nobody would love their children.

i'm sure i was on it further down, it's just the resurrection that passed me by.

I must say that I wish I hadn't discovered Sali's Guardian make up videos. I had to do something incredibly important for work and worked from home to finish it, but pissed about all day and then discovered the Sali make up tips. Hours later I was too exhausted to contemplate working and went to play with my make up twat so had to finish the work task in a fret at about 2am.

As I'm the one who posted the now deleted thread about India Knight's column from last month, I wanted to clear up Sali Hughes' comment that Alastair Campbell misquoted I.K, the one that the Huffington Post published.

I said up thread that as a subscriber to the Times I'd check what was actually said by India - I've now re-read India's column as well as what he wrote in his blog. He categorically did not misquote her at all.

To be clear, Sali - you got this wrong.

Did Sali Hughes (can we PLEASE stop referring to her as just 'Sali'?! Pleeeeeeeeeeeease?) insinuate that she found out about this thread around the time that she posted on it? Because if that's the case, how did she know about the personal jibes against India, seeing as they got deleted the same day they were posted? Or if she DID know about them at the time, why did she choose to comment on them now?
