YABU of course.
Though not if you put it in my oven.
Have you got cream to go with that?

applecrumple · 30/10/2012 19:42

Surely you mean cream and ice team?

TomsBentPinky · 30/10/2012 19:43

I have cream, yes.

Oh god I am [henvy] I am 32 weeks pregnant and have gestational diabetes. I'd fucking kill for a crumble and custard. Please describe in detail how yummy it is so I can indulge vicariously!

Scheherezade · 30/10/2012 21:32

filling
100ml water
225g sugar
30ml golden syrup
30g butter
450g cooking apples
450g eating apples

crumble
150g p.flour
150g butter
150g demerera sugar
(I double the crumble because I am fat)

instructions

  1. Peel core and chop apples
  2. Preheat oven to 180c
  3. Put water and sugar in a pan and slowly bring to boil. Reduce heat once sugar has melted
  4. Add syrup and butter and bring to boil, stirring constantly.
  5. Turn down heat, add apples and cook, stirring gently, until just soft. Put into ovenproof dish.
  6. Crumble time! Rub flour butter & sugar in bowl with fingertips till like breadcrumbs. Spoon evenly over toffee apple mixture and place in oven to bake for 15mins (or till crisp and golden brown).

I don't know where I got the recipe from, its just written down on a well used scrap of paper!

TomsBentPinky · 30/10/2012 21:35

It was lovely, we had half each.

I feel fat and content.

I thankyou.

Scheherezade · 30/10/2012 22:35

It is very yummy, but very sweet! I recommend vanilla ice cream :)
