I can't help it. :)

He's a much longed for second baby after a 9 year age gap... he's 4 months old.

Every so often when he's asleep, usually before I go to sleep, I give him a little gentle stroke on his head or prod him to make sure he's breathing ok :)

I'm mean aren't I?

My baby is 7 months. I don't poke her but I do stare at her to make sure I can see her chest rising and falling. She looks spookily unalive when she sleeps.

I check DS1 (3) every night, i may also stay to gaze at him and hold his wee hand. Blush

i only stopped using the angelcare monitor when he moved out of his cot. Blush

DS2 (6mo) has it now, although he normally gives me plenty of opportunity to check him at night...

am missing being able to hold DS2's wee hand through the bars of the cot beside my bed now he's just moved out.

I got a breathing monitor for ds - if you farted in the next room he'd wake up let alone prodding .

I would often check the little green light was flashing :)

I still do this to DS age (4.8)and I'm pretty sure that given half a chance my mum would still do it to me (34).
YANBU.

I do this. And sometimes I have struggled to get (2.5) to settle and then I am in a little while later to check she is ok. Yesterday dd1 woke first at 7 which is unheard of and I went straight into dd2 to check as I was aghast she was still asleep. Had to do a little poke then!

BreeVanDerTramp · 25/10/2012 07:21

I still check DS 1 & 2 every time I pass their room often.

I don't need to prod 4 month old DD as she snores like a beast Grin

Remember when sharing a hotel room with DM, around the age of 22, that she proded me for the same reason!

Alibabaandthe40nappies · 25/10/2012 08:20

I had a sleepy DS2 (19 months) in bed with me for a while last night. He wouldn't settle and then he crawled up so that his cheek was resting against my eye, gave a huge sigh of contentment and put a little fat arm round my neck and went to sleep.

I still prod ds and he is 11!

SamuelWestsMistress · 25/10/2012 08:39

Serial poker of sleeper here!

I even do it to my husband who does in fact sleep like the dead. Backfires a bit when it disturbs him and he thinks its an invitation to some sexy time.

Poledra · 25/10/2012 08:53

I don't prod, but do go and check everyone is breathing before I go to bed at night. My lot sleep quite soundly so I also rescue teddies, straighten duvets and remove anything uncomfortable from the bed (usually books). Sometimes have to remove spectacles (how can anyoen go to sleep with their glasses on? How??). They're 8, 6 and 4.

And DH wouldn't admit it, but he does it too Smile

I still do this with DS, he's 3yo. [hblush] I think I still can't quite believe he's real and really mine!
