To expect 5 yr old DS to spend 8 hours on a plane in only 1 pair of trousers?

i am packing to go to Orlando for half term and want to keep clothes to a minimum. Can I reasonably expect to just take 1 swim shorts, 1 shorts, 1 long trousers and wear 1 pair of jeans on plane? We're going for a week and staying in a hotel so nonwashing facilities unless we pay $100.

Buy nappies there. There will be a supermarket.
Take full advantage of handluggage. Long haul isn't the same as a ryanair flight - unless you try to take skis or something on with you they won't care.
If teen daughter wants more than her half a case worth of clothes get her to carry them as handluggage.(And remind her she has to carry it through the airport).

I'm not reading all of this but you can buy Huggies pull-ups in the US. If you can afford Disney, you can afford to buy a pack of three shorts and three track suit bottoms or less then £20.00. If you don't have enough luggage then buy another bag for £20 from TK Max or Primark.

I'd be worried about turbulence while your little boy is in the toilet during the plane journey. That's the first thing I thought of when I saw the thread title!

Right. In a school size rucksack, for my 14yo DD, I can fit in :

2 pairs of rolled jeans. 2 pairs of pyjamas. 4 pairs of knickers. 2 bra's. One jumper. Her phone & charger. Her DSi and charger. Her iPod and charger. 3/4 DS games in the little clippy cases that you can buy in Argos (not their usual cases, they are the size of the game). A spare pair of shoes. About 3 rolled magazines. A medium sized rolled towel. A clear wash bag containing travel (I.e. meeting plane regulation 100ml size) bottles of shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, her toothbrush, her flannel, mascara, eyeshadow, lipgloss, eyeliner, her hairbrush and at least 4 hair bands.

This is just an ordinary Reebok rucksack from the sports section in Argos.

It shouldn't be that hard to fit what you REALLY need if you get each person to carry a rucksack.

And seriously - roll rather than fold. You fit twice as much in.

And a rucksack can sit by a child/teens feet in the car. Or between them on the back seat.

Oh, you can add 3 pairs of socks to that list too. Just keep them separate and poke them in to fill any gaps.

I don't bring much for my children at all when we go away, but I always bring a change for the plane. My daughter opened a drink that was in a sports top flask thing and I'm still not sure how she did it but when she popped the top it soaked about 4 rows Blush and I managed to completely miss my mouth with a cup of juice and soak myself 20 mins into a flight.

Always, always, always take a change for the plane. My mum stepped off a long haul flight once with just a jacket tied round her waist as she had pooed herself and she was a grown woman. Had kids wee, puke, spill drinks down themselves. Be prepared.

Couthy my dc could do that too. Even the cats could I think Grin
