Unless I missed boat completely the lyrics to new song is all about having a one night stand with a girl.
I get a lot of songs are about sex, love ect, but their fans are very young, and lucky for me dd1 isnt a fan BUT feel uncomfortable about girls as young as 8 singing a song about "getting some"

Has = had.

Guve = give.

Obv.

NettoSpookerstar · 20/10/2012 19:21

Can't say it bothers me.
DD and I are going to see them in April and I have a Harry doll

Shakey1500 · 20/10/2012 19:21

Oh I loved John Taylor. Proper bedroom wall poster crush....sigh. It was the hair and the lips .

squoosh · 20/10/2012 19:21

Agree that Harry needs a slap on the chops, looks far too pleased with himself.

Tuttutitlookslikerain · 20/10/2012 19:21

I think you are over thinking it. Pop songs with lyrics like that have been around since the year dot!

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2012 19:22

Oh yes English. Still would Wink

AKissIsNotAContract · 20/10/2012 19:22

Didn't a few of Duran Duran's videos get banned from TOTP?

The lyrics aren't really explicit, no 8yo will know what they mean. Much better than Blow My Whistle

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2012 19:24

They did a bit of a dodgy Girls on film one AKiss. I don't think anyone would bat an eyelid now.

Blow my whistle on the other hand......Blush

squoosh · 20/10/2012 19:24

Makes me nostalgic for the good old days of 1990 when Take That's bare arses were rolling around in strawberry jelly singing 'Do what you like, no need to ask me . . . . .'

JeezyOrangePips · 20/10/2012 19:25

Yeah, those sweet Duran Duran boys. Guess you've still never seen the full video to girls on film then, huh?

Shakey1500 · 20/10/2012 19:26

Did they? I remember FGTH being banned (I think), was it Two Tribes?

Welcome To The Pleasuredome was a fantastic album :)

Rowgtfc72 · 20/10/2012 19:27

DD likes the Starships song. Halfway through dd sings ""Im hiyah ninja hiyah ninja" Googled it, nearly spat my tea when I read its actually "Im higher than a motherfucker"! She makes her own words up as Im sure most small children who have no comprehension of the lyrics do thank god!

JeezyOrangePips · 20/10/2012 19:31

Shakey, no it was Relax.

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2012 19:32

I have jeezy. unfortunately it wasn't them in a state of undress though. Big fuss at the time about it though. not so much 30 years later.

JeezyOrangePips · 20/10/2012 19:33

Cross post sparkling, you are probably right. I haven't seen it for a while but I remember being a bit shocked the first time I saw it. That was quite a few years ago now when I was much more innocent

JeezyOrangePips · 20/10/2012 19:34

Yikes, another cross post! My first post wasn't aimed at you, it was at the first person that mentioned Duran Duran!

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2012 19:34

Shall I try and find it and we can judge Jeezy? Grin

EnglishGirlApproximately · 20/10/2012 19:38

sparkling more so now than back then. I was always a Roger fan Blush

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2012 19:44

FGTH were banned for Relax not 2 tribes.

I remember a few years ago my early teen DD singing Bedrock and it took a while before I realised it wasn't about the Flintstones!

Not very impressed with Pitbull's Hotel Room...

Forget about your boyfriend and meet me at the hotel room, you can bring your girlfriends and meet me at the hotel room.

hmmmm

Sparklingbrook · 20/10/2012 19:59

Makes George Michaels 'guilty feet have got no rhythm' seem a bit tame. Grin

lisad123 · 20/10/2012 20:02

I haven't ever thought much about this but I guess as DDs getting older, it's become quite clear.

That's so true lisa. DS1 is 13 and i have become sensitive to everything.

EnglishGirlApproximately · 20/10/2012 20:15
