AIBU about cost of Christmas night out

£49.50 for a basic 3 course meal, venue is no where special, entertainment is a couple of belly dancers and a fire eater and it doesn't include any drinks. I think that is very unreasonable/outrageous. I won't be paying extra for drinks,as I will be driving as venue is quite a way from where I live, but those who are drinking will be stung for alcoholic drinks.

Way too much. £25 quid limit at my place. I wouldn't go.

YANBU, that's way too much.

Depends where you are in the country. Quite normal for London & the surrounding area.

I wouldn't pay it unless I thought I was likely to have a really good night. If I'm going to have an expensive night out, I'd want to be able to be with my friends and drink.

But if that's what the majority of your colleagues want, that's up to them.

I didn't add that I'm in the North West in initial post,as I realise down sarrrth prices are more anyway:) but even the last few years it's been £25-£35

£40 here for similar and we are no where near London.

justmyview · 19/10/2012 21:37

Similar prices here too. Christmas nights out are often a rip off

Ours is 40odd this year too.

North west.
