AIBU?

To be annoyed about p&c space

Today went to tesco no parent and child spaces, not a problem there's only two. Noticed another parent from nursery was parked in one thought this was strange as her kids are always the last out of nursery at it was only 510. Sure enough met her and her husband in the shop with no children!

I thought that was the ider you send the kids to nursery so you can shop in peace and you have the child seats in the car so you can use P&C spaces

Wow! Reversing is easier than going in forwards? I can't believe it. I also have issues with the car going in the wrong direction to what I tell it to when it's going backwards. I don't think my mind is wired the right way to reverse park. I'd love someone to teach me how if it really is easier though.

When I park forwards in a tight space I have to go in, out, in, out, in, out, in. It's embarrassing.

dear prudence won't you teach me to reverse park?

Ivor I think you should go on dragon's den with your 'double-ended car'

Well you should have asked her where little Johnny, Tommy and Ursula were. That would've embarrassed her and taught her never to use the p&c space without children ever again.

Please don't go away and namechange OP, I think it's a lovely name and if you're new, how were you to know the Friday Night Comedy with added Wine Club were going to pounce on the Ongoing Saga of Parent And Child Spaces the moment it appeared? Especially in AIBU - double joy!

Damn, I honestly thought I was the only one who drove into a space that made me look like I'd reversed into it.

My unnecessary rages tend to centre on retail establishments these days Dame, and overly expensive coffee emporiums. Grin

If you reverse into a space you can't get your shopping in the boot. Confused

I never even thought about a 'drive-thru' space having the added bonus of creating the illusion that I can actually reverse park. It's the gift that keeps on giving.

Costa and their £3.25 for a small 'Cooler' which is basically a Slush Puppie and the slowness of service in general. Grin

Morrisons staff flinging the shopping at you quicker than you can pack it.

Stuff like that Dame.

Prudence, you are right, it's so much easier to reverse in than reverse out. Wing mirrors are fab.... Nothing aids the "where the fuck is the end of my bonnet" problem that occurs when reversing out Sad

But... For big shops you need boot access... And there lies the problem.

Wouldn't it be great if all parking was single lines? We'd always have access to our boots; always have the "magic drive-thru" space and then... If they were 6" wider we would be able to get our fat arses door open without dinking the car next to us?

Oh what a lovely car park that'd be Grin

Actually, Sparklingbrook has a good point about putting shopping in the boot. My favourite car parks are the ones with spaces on an angle that are easy to drive into but you can still get into the boot.
