When I look at the top of the page and my inbox has a little glowing envelope?

I only ever really PM 2 people (who I knew before joining MN) and I've only ever had nice PMs from other posters.

So why when I see it light up, do I always get that funny little feeling?

You know like when the phone rings after 9pm or there's a knock at the door at an odd time of the day/night? Grin

Am I alone in this? Blush

And to be fair, I got so worked up after The Ruck I was physically sick when I opened my PM's so I'm quite glad not to have that again (they were all lovely and supportive, but I was in A Tiz by then and took a month long break!)

SFB that's not good Shock

It was a hard lesson well learnt, MNHQ were awesome, and I came back with a much more sensible head so all good now :)

I do however love getting random letters - especially handwritten ones. Why does no one write letters anymore? I need a penpal!

WorraLiberty · 06/10/2012 23:57

SFB I love getting hand written letters in the post and so do my DS's

Someone posted this link the other night and it's fantastic.

Have a little looksee!

BasicallySFB · 07/10/2012 00:05

Ah thank you that's an awesome site - will get card making tomorrow with DS :)

airforceone · 07/10/2012 00:10

Yes I get that feeling. Happens about once a week. Always think 'why oh why did I make my entire profile public'...

WorraLiberty · 07/10/2012 00:10

It's great isn't it?

I'm a 'writer' of letters but the kids are definitely more your email senders...lazy gits that they are Grin

I also love the way the siblings are involved cos they're often forgotten when they have a sick brother or sister.

I get that feeling when going though an airport and when I have set on the metal detecter off and they have to pat me down, or when they search my bag or when they have a sniffer dog and I never have anything to hide!

BasicallySFB · 07/10/2012 00:14

Absolutely! We have two cats so may send some cards from them with some Special Cat Magic Stars (love the glitter stars idea!) :)

And DS always happy to create chaos in my kitchen with pens and paint so we'll get cracking. Will pass on to a few of my psychology students too.

fairtomiddling · 07/10/2012 00:14

I get that feeling when my mobile rings - all my friends either text me or ring the landline, so the ringtone for my mobile always makes my stomach do nervous clenching. I also get worried by PM's on both of the forums I frequent, because I'm convinced it's someone who recognises me from RL and is shocked/jeering/angry about something I've written. Blush

WorraLiberty · 07/10/2012 00:16

SFB I emailed the link to the head of literacy at my DS's primary school and she said she's going to get the older ones involved over Christmas.

fair you guilty woman you Grin

I set the airport alerts off all the time. I had to be strip searched at Amsterdam a few years ago.

(It must be the replacement hip)

LadyBeagleEyes · 07/10/2012 00:24

Sounds like my marriage Op.
I'm divorced now though Grin

WorraLiberty · 07/10/2012 00:27

sooty was it anything to do with the fact the customs officer was a hunk and you told him you've just ingested an entire crate of skunk...not orally? Grin

I often feel like this on a Saturday/Sunday morning when I know I've been posting on here under the influence of red wine. So far I haven't posted anything too bad but I totally get that stomach wrenching feeling when you think "wtf did I say?" and can't quite remember.

missingmumxox · 07/10/2012 01:09

me too never look at that bit, just realised I had messages, they go back to when I started on MN, looks like I answered a couple but I don't look at it normally.
