If anyone has a teenage DS, you may understand.

But I swear to almighty Christ if my DS says to me one more time "FIFA 13 is out today" I may have to throw the ps3 out of the window.

Sorry.

Rant over.

mayor Can you explain what the difference is between Fifa12 and Fifa13?

TantrumsAndGoldAndOrange · 28/09/2012 10:31

There is no difference.

It's the same bloody game.

My 9 year old ds had his birthday a few weeks ago but we got him FIFA 13, it's just arrived thank God as he's spoken of nothing else all week.

It's very important you get FIFA 13 and not 12 as the players are with their new clubs. Apparently.

mayorquimby · 28/09/2012 10:36

updated squads is the obvious change which makes people say "it's the same game just prettied up"
but the control of the defending has really improved and the passing system has gotten a lot of the bugs knocked out from the last one.
Also after a year when the game starts to get a bit stale, changing the new squads and improving the graphics may well just be prettying it up but that's enough to refresh things.

sugarice · 28/09/2012 10:38

major how come you've had it for a few days when us plebs had to wait til midnight last night to get our sweaty mitts on it.

Are you a famous footballer who got first dibs on it? Wink

mayorquimby · 28/09/2012 10:46

Unfortunately not.
a friend who used to work for the now defunct GAME chain of stores has moved into some form of PR and development role for one of their distributors (he started explaining it one night and it was too boring to remember) got about 10 advanced copies for clients/demos and threw me one.

sugarice · 28/09/2012 10:48

Lucky you! your mate has a job that probably sounds like a dream to many teenage gamers Smile.

NakedButNotFamous · 28/09/2012 10:49

Well, despite paying extra to guarantee the delivery this morning, Royal Mail has failed to deliver it. Yet again. Got my letters, no game. Shouldn't really be surprised anymore. Someone is going to be mightily upset tonight.

mayorquimby · 28/09/2012 10:56

"sounds like a dream to many teenage gamers"
at times I'm 99% sure he is one. I have a PS3 and I think the Fifa games are the only ones I play with any sort of regularity. but as it's a bluray/dvd/internet tv machine also it gets plenty of use.

SoupDragon · 28/09/2012 10:57

One year, DS announced that the difference between old Fifa and new Fifa was that the player's hair moved Hmm

Saltire · 28/09/2012 10:58

Well there will be ructions here, as our postie apparently cannot get through due to floods.
Yodel managed Angry, sainsburys managed and a feckin big argos lorry managed.

TantrumsAndGoldAndOrange · 28/09/2012 11:00

Well I was told by DS1 the difference is they have the new boots.

Really??

£40 to play with the same player that's on Fifa 12 but with new boots??

wisden · 28/09/2012 11:02

I seem to remember one year DS telling me they had added new goal celebrations. FFS.

nokidshere · 28/09/2012 11:15

Well I am going to be in trouible later LOL it was already sold out locally! and Online!

pigsinmud · 28/09/2012 11:21

Thank goodness. Ds2's copy has arrived. Might text him to put him out of his agony!

TantrumsAndGoldAndOrange · 28/09/2012 11:22

Oh please don't tell it's sold out already???

DS will hate me forever.

slalomsuki · 28/09/2012 11:39

Glad it's not just me with this. I've been nagged for a Xbox version and a ds version for both my lads. This is despite FIFA 11 being the favourite the other day due to some feature that's been dropped.

I even mentioned the Santa word today to get them off my back.

sugarice · 28/09/2012 11:48

I've just picked up a copy from ASDA but not the Ultimate one mentioned upthread.

AphraBehn · 28/09/2012 12:21

We got our copy delivered yesterday thanks to Tesco.
Apparantly, the extra bits not included in the standard edition can be bought with Microsoft points.

CiderwithBuda · 28/09/2012 12:58

Shit. Had no clue about Ultimate thingy. Wasn't part of my instructions. Bought what i saw in Sainsburys (which was busier than normal due to FIFA13!). Am I going to be in trouble?

And as part of my instructions I opened it and have it machine ready to go.

CiderwithBuda · 28/09/2012 12:59

What are Microsoft points? Confused

NervousAt20 · 28/09/2012 13:02

My hate is call of duty Angry I hate that game!!!

Sparklingbrook · 28/09/2012 13:30

DS1 says this is the difference between FIFA 13 'normal' and FIFA 13 Ultimate Edition-

'On the Ultmate Edition there is an add on called 'Ultimate Team' which allows you to collect virtual trading Cards with players on them which you can play the game with and trade with other FIFA players'.

Sounds dull to me but apparently it isn't. Hmm

Tommychoochoo · 28/09/2012 13:31

My DH was at tesco at midnight to get Fifa 13. I would probably be more understanding if it was for my DS but no it was for him. He started work late today so he could stay up to play itAngry

Sparklingbrook · 28/09/2012 13:33

We still had to queue for it today even though it was reserved. The queue mainly consisted of baffled Mums not knowing exactly what they were buying and kids from DS's school on their TED FIFA day. Grin
