And very rude!

Dsil came round last night and put her bare feet up on my sofa! I cringed....

I have a bit of a thing about feet, can't stand them. Except perfect ones, and preferably baby feet. But hers were disgusting and had loads of dead skin.

Dh thinks I'm nuts, but apart from anything else, when on earth did it become acceptable to do this?

my mil used to do this, made me wince

SrirachaGirl · 27/09/2012 21:37

Interestingly, I have no issue with dog anuses, anii, anes bottoms on my furniture. Quite frankly they are preferable to MIL's hooves grown-up feet.

These threads always seem to end with bum germs Grin.

YABU.

It is NOT 'disgusting' it is feet. Unless she has foot fungus it's really not disgusting at all.

MadameCupcake · 27/09/2012 21:41

Goodness - I think I could be your SIL Wink I do usually wear socks or just take my slippers round to peoples houses then put my feet up though!

Liketochat1 · 27/09/2012 21:44

Yabu. It's nice she felt comfortable and welcome. Although her feet weren't...

PiedWagtail · 27/09/2012 22:29

Yes, usualsuspect, they do! You suddenly start forgetting to wash and you develop Stinky MIL Feet!

SuiGeneris · 27/09/2012 22:31

YABU op.

I live in your universe usual! You're not alone.

maddening · 27/09/2012 23:30

It was disgusting in uni when our flatmates gf lay on the only sofa (2 seats) while we sat on plastic chairs and picked the dead skin off her feet leaving a pile of dead skin on the floor.

But if they weren't awfully dirty/smelly then Yabu

ilovetermtime · 28/09/2012 13:08

I think we can all agree that picking your toenails or dead skin off on someone else's sofa IS disgusting and rude, but simply putting clean feet up on the sofa.... how on earth can that be classed as disgusting or rude?

Please, I really don't understand!

The people who don't like it... is it just this that you don't like or are there other things that gross you out too, like, oh, I don't know.... dogs on sofas? Or someone sitting on your bed? Or people touching your windows/mirrors?

Genuine question btw, just trying to get an idea of who wouldn't like feet on sofas so I can judge it when I visit friends - I wouldn't want to inadvertently freak someone out :)

ilovetermtime · 28/09/2012 13:09

Or would I? Wink

NameChangeGalore · 28/09/2012 13:21

I hate it when people put their feet up on other people's sofas. Bare foot or socked, it looks rude.

Wuxiapian · 28/09/2012 13:51

I'm quite averse to seeing DP and DS's feet on the sofa, let alone anyone else's...

So, no, YANBU!!

JiltedJohnsJulie · 28/09/2012 13:54

Your DH has a point. A valid one.

habbibu · 28/09/2012 13:58

I have psoriasis, OP, and therefore dead skin all over my body (as does everyone, Fwiw, just that mine's more obvious). Would my scaly arms also be banned from your sofa?
