to bloody HATE having to make decisions on what insurance to take for my car?

I am petrified of making the wrong choice! I have to have cover for childminding and must cover both mine and DH's car.

How can I be sure that I am making the right decision?

i love the NFU, they seem to always beat everyone, and if you have to claim they are brilliant.

You will need to have additional cover beyond fully comp that allows you to use your car for your business use or your employers business, this is not an expensive addition usually only £10-£20 more on top of the fully comp.

use a broker. let them recommend you a suitable policy. then if they make the wrong recommendation they are liable to you for their negligence. simples :-)

I love finding the right car insurance - I find the quote I like that covers what I want, ring the company to discuss, get extra freebies thrown in at a lower price than the original quote. Then sit back with a cup of tea and a biscuit

Also make sure your car has proper child seats fitted if you intend to carry the children from one place to another.

Bureni, as far as I am aware, the car seats are fitted properly and are "proper" car seats which are age and stage appropriate. I hope that's enough! :)

Alli I had to insure my car with additional "Class A" cover on top of my fully comp as I use my car for work carrying tools and materials, this additional cover only cost £ 10 on top of my normal insurance costs but does not cover me for carrying passengers for "reward or hire" in the normal course of my work. Best to check with your insurance company as regards carrying passengers just to be on the safe side.
To give you an idea of cost, my insurance is £317 per year for a group 17 car with the additional class A cover, thats with max no claims bonus.
