Just bought coffee from the buffet car on the train. When she went to put it in a bag I said there was no need - surely coffee upright in my hand is. Safer than flopping around in a little paper bag but she said she had to for safety reasons!

I am sure there is some bizarre reasoning. Poor girl, bet she feels an idiot having to that.

I would agree with you. I think coffee is less likely to get spilled in the fort place if it is in your hand, but then if it des spill and its in the bag it's more likely to be contained and not land on someone else. Maybe the paper bags are made of extra safe coffee soaking up paper? Smile

Hmm maybe. Yes, you're probably right. But I struggled to carry it in one hand in a bag, worried it was galling over and spilling everywhere. Never mind, got a free bag out of it :)
