I am feeling anxious and panicky tonight and am alone with no one to call. Does anyone know of a helpline I can call now to help?

How about the Samaritans? What are you panicky about?

caramelwaffle · 26/09/2012 00:50

Samaritans

08457 90 90 90* (UK)
1850 60 90 90* (Eire)

I thought of the Samaritans but isn't that for suicidal people?

The Samaritans are really kind and happy to talk to you even if you are just wanting a sympathetic ear. Good luck

howdoo · 26/09/2012 00:56

No, not for just suicidal! Hope you are talking to them now.

howdoo · 26/09/2012 00:56

Sorry, did so not mean "just" there...

ilovemyteddies · 26/09/2012 00:57

Samaritans you can chat to, no problem, they're there to listen Smile.

Or post here, lots of insomniacs who will post to support you.

Big hugs and Smile and Brew whatever is on your mind, it's SHIT when it's night and you're feeling tense and can't sleep.

PS Personally I like to look at meditation stuff to calm me down - go to Youtube and search for "inner space meditation" for a very good programme - but of course I get if that isn't your cup of tea.

AdoraBell · 26/09/2012 01:14

Are you feeling any better now, did you speak to Samaritans?

bissydissy · 26/09/2012 03:29

If you are in scotland try breathing space - nhs mental health support helpline. May also work from a mobile but not an English landline.
