AIBU to expect a pair of tights to last longer than one wear?

Or do I just have freaky toe nails which shred through each and every pair I buy no matter how cheap expensive?

It seems it's worse when I wear higher heels.

Anyone out there with a solution as I'm starting to think that I won't be able to afford to wear skirts again and I'm just after losing a lot of post baby weight and so am quite proud to show off my legs?

Keep your toenails as short as possible and wear stockings?

At least that way you might only lose 50% of them at a time.

Socks inside your tights?

Admittedly that would only work if you wore boots...

roll them down and put your toe straight into the toe seam then pull up..

Worra - I cut my toe nails this morning after throwing out a lovely pair yesterday. By 10am my big toe on my right foot was through Confused.
I don't regard my feet as big (4.5)

Filly - I do that in the winter alright

Squeaky - must give that a go

I have a friend who buys multi-packs of the cheapest tights, wears them once and throws them away. She says "I'm not washing bloody tights" Grin.

If you can be arsed, paint the ends of the toes with clear nail varnish and let it dry. They'll go stiff but won't ladder.

I agree with not hand washing tights (who would bother) but I'm flabbergasted at wearing once and throwing away. If you throw them into the washing machine they just tangle up the whole wash so I bought a zip up laundry bag (Similar)and just chuck a load of them into it. They don't pull/snag etc.

Might try the painting toes with varnish...
