Amazing! I thought he'd get pipped. Lendl is am amazing coach though.

They had Henman on radio 4 saying '...if I was him - I wish!' Which I thought was nice. maybe he was trying to 'fix' the anyone but england comment he got him to say about a million years ago, which some people think is good enough reason to hate him for ever and want him to lose every single match.

Losingitall · 11/09/2012 09:01

He's bloody ace and what an athlete. Let the haters hate. Their loss!

sugarice · 11/09/2012 09:02

Yes Lendl deserves a huge amount of credit for digging out that bit extra from Andy. Terrific achievement.

Startailoforangeandgold · 11/09/2012 09:08

Well done Andy!

There, I said it.
but I still prefer Roger and want to sleep with Rafa

EdMcDunnough · 11/09/2012 09:15

It's just been such a fantastic summer of sport - am unashamedly enthused by it all! Ed - he's only gone and won the US Open!!

Feel free to custard pie me.

shesariver · 11/09/2012 09:50

So happy for him!!

I knew I shouldnt have read some of the comments after the story in the DM though, because although on the whole the comments are postive the negative ones can be really nasty and pathetic.

LouMacca · 11/09/2012 09:54

Well done Andy!!!! And a special mention to Ivan Lendl - had a huge crush on him (and those cheekbones!) when I was younger Smile

BegoniaBampot · 11/09/2012 09:57

I liked Lendl as well. Always wanted him to win Wimbledon. He like Murray was never that popular as he came across as serious rather than a jokey charmer like Aggassi.

CremeEggThief · 11/09/2012 10:05

I stayed up listening to it on 5 Live, as I don't have Sky.

I am delighted for him. The way he has regrouped after his loss at Wimbledon is incredible. And I say that as a Federer fan.

furrygoldone · 11/09/2012 10:34

I'm really pleased for him, what an amazing time for British sport. There were some texts read out on 5live this morning about the England football thing, some people really can't take a joke Hmm, or just understand how annoying the whole media hype is about English football when you're not English.

Most people seem to dislike him for being a bit grumpy and having a very dry sense of humour, but that's why I like him, he doesn't pretend to be someone he isn't for the sake of media popularity.

thunderbird5 · 11/09/2012 10:55

Im really saddo. i cried! with joy!bawling after the Wimbledon speech, the gold medal and now! plus, as a huge fan of Djokovic, the guy has to to be the most gracious in defeat. Kudos galore to him. played some awesome tennis and was totally respectful to ANdy in all. and in his press conference. dont think its sunk in yet to Andy. Fred Perry can rest in peace now!Well done Andy.

TheCunningStunt · 11/09/2012 10:58

It is brilliant. He is from not too far from meGrin

Pixieonthemoor · 11/09/2012 11:33

SO pleased for him. I am not ashamed to say that I wept along with him at his terrible disappointment when he lost Wimbledon. The news of his win made me really grin this morning. Jubilee, Olympics and now this!! Hurrah!!

101handbags · 11/09/2012 11:35

Brilliant! Did not budge from the sofa from 9pm til 3am. Suffering today...
