Thorpe Park at the weekend. Fairly busy - but there was an abundance of couples there without kids.

I don't mind rollercoasters/rides etc. I'll go on them with the DCs. But never in a million years would me and DH go to one our own for a day out.

I'd feel bloody daft. Standing in a queue with my backpack and cagoul, and a bunch of excited kids surrounding us.

Even worse - adults who go to Disneyland without kids. Someone I work with went to Eurodisney on her honeymoon.

Flame me. Go on.

YABU. Thorpe Park and Alton Towers cater for adults. I would agree if you'd been to Legoland or Gullivers Kingdom, but not somewhere that has very thrilling rides.

Longdistance · 10/09/2012 12:56

Yanbu. I went to Props Pig World last week, and some old people decided they wanted to ride George's Dinosaur.
Now, I'm all for adults riding whatever they want in a theme park, but it wad a ride for kids. A dinosaur rocking back and forth going around a circuit.
Imagine your granny sitting on one of those rides in the shopping centre where you pop a quid in........
You got it! All these frazzled kids waiting their ride, whilst grandma has her turn

I'm fucking odd, me! Grin I also like spending half a day in a good garden centre though. Blush

LST · 10/09/2012 12:56

Playing computer games is no different to reading books or watching TV or playing board games or knitting or doing jigsaw puzzles or any other activity that people do for entertainment - it's fine as long as you don't do it to the exclusion of all other activities and you are able to put it down when necessary.

Longdistance · 10/09/2012 12:57

Peppa Pig World stupid not so smart phone

Alurkatsoftplay · 10/09/2012 12:57

Freaks.

I too know a couple who went to Disney for their honeymoon.

They are the same people who cant get into their beds for the cuddly toys.

MrsMangoBiscuit · 10/09/2012 12:58

Ooh, cross post. So what about grown women and games consoles? Grin

Bookbrain · 10/09/2012 12:59

I think adults who go to Disneyland etc are odd. DH's cousin went to Disneyland ON HIS HONEYMOON (they have no children). I thought a honeymoon was meant to be a relaxing, sun-and-champagne shagfest, not a holiday spent eating fast food, queueing behind other people's kids, hugging people in Mickey Mouse costumes and using toilets soiled by the throughflow of many, many toddlers who can't aim properly..

Bossybritches22 · 10/09/2012 12:59

Don't let those judgy pants cut off your circulation Grin

Nowt as queer as folk.

LST · 10/09/2012 12:59

Alurka you sound lovely Hmm

LST · 10/09/2012 13:00

I can't wait to go to Disney land Florida. I have been saving up for years. Years before I'd even thought of having DC's now I have DS I will know longer worry about being judges Hmm

LST · 10/09/2012 13:01

Judged

badtasteflump · 10/09/2012 13:01

Are you always this grumpy on a Monday cat? Grin

I would happily spend all day arsing around on rollercoasters with no DC to worry about Blush

brighteyedbusytailed · 10/09/2012 13:04

I love theme parks, I'm obviously dodgy Hmm

MadBusLady · 10/09/2012 13:04

YABU. The world would be a better place if adults were "allowed" to play! DP slightly wants to go and climb on the dinosaurs at Crystal Palace.

PatriciaHolm · 10/09/2012 13:04

Probably get a bit wet Cat. Though we only go on sunny days, and are normally soaked through from the enormous water splash ride anyway...!

cat · 10/09/2012 13:04

Yep. Monday is my designated be-a-miserable-judgey-arse day.

Grin

YABU it's better without DC,
you can go on a weekday so less queues,
zero pestering for overpriced tat
and you can get all holdy handy without you 12yo looking Hmm.

cat · 10/09/2012 13:06

I bet all you adult theme-park goers wear nighties with kittens on and wolef fleeces

OP posts:
Peeenut · 10/09/2012 13:07

I find your attitude very odd. The main rides at most large them parks are aimed at teens and adults.

MadBusLady · 10/09/2012 13:08

Actually, how do you know so many of the adults were unaccompanied? Maybe they'd dumped their darlings in a supervised ball pool and were nipping off for a much-needed sugary drink and a swift shag behind the Nemesis.

Francagoestohollywood · 10/09/2012 13:09

Yanbu
