We were told that this kind of thing had been stamped out in the police just shocking i think more so because its women.

What i would like to know is
In what contex is the conversation taken out of Confused

Very sad and this is why many black people feel they wont ever get a fair hearing when it comes to the police

  1. They were sacked. So it was dealt with by the police.
  1. It could happen in any organisation. The mark of a good organisation is how it is dealt with.
  1. Why do you hold women to a higher standard than men?
Greythorne · 09/09/2012 18:50

In what way is it worse because they are women?

Women are human beings with strengths and weaknesses, not precious angels who love animals and fluffy things.

You can never stamp out twats, you can't predict people's behaviour. The important thing is that it has been dealt with and they have been sacked seemingly within six months. The incident would be no better or worse if it had been male officers.

Fishwife1949 · 09/09/2012 18:52

BlackberryIce sorry this level or racism is usually linked to men when in the news

Seldom women so just a little more shocked didnt mean to offend

You get racist twats everywhere. What's actually good about this story is whereas 20 years ago it would have been par for the course and "acceptable", now it was dealt with pretty emphatically and there is no doubt at all that the Met see it as unacceptable.

For the colleague to have left her phone on record in her locker it sounds like there was form for this, and the colleague wanted evidence. Admirable.

Fishwife1949 · 09/09/2012 18:54

FelicitywasSarca sorry again just this is usually male officers i dont recall ever reading about this happening with female officers
