Aibu to delay legal proceedings till I am entitled to legal aid?

Finally got letter from ex re. Change of access agreemts for our son. Though we could meet in the middle and avoid court- he also seemed keen, but when we got into the nitty gritty again, he moved the goal posts and reverted back to a stupid plan that's no good for our son and now will cost me loads of money too

His new baby is due this month and he's only planning on seeing ds once more this year as travel will be difficult with the baby.

From April my tax credits will drop and I'll be entitled to legal aid and paid mediation. I really think we're going to need it.

Do I have to respond to his solicitors letter soon or can I string it out? I don't have £5k for court and he's do unreasonable I just can't see us working it out between us.

Aibu to assume that on e this baby is born he'll be do busy he won't have the time or inclination to pursue this and we can let the dust settle then try to work access out again next year?
