You don't finish work half an hour before then complain that you missed the bus because you didn't get off early.

Got to my clients house this morning at 06.59. I don't start until 7am and the previous person doesn't finish until 7am. She was pissed off with me because she had to catch a bus to a work placement as part of a college course. There was nothing to handover as the client sleeps all night.

AIBU to think I shouldn't have to arrive any earlier?
(I also don't think she should be working a night shift and then going to placement, but that's another story. Yes, she is coming back tonight!!)

How is any of that your fault Confused why did she have a go?

flyoverthegoldenhill · 04/09/2012 07:36

its her problem, I bet she managed to have a shower before you got there though !

flyoverthegoldenhill · 04/09/2012 07:39

And she shouldn't de going to a placement this morning, unless she slept ! - which I guess she won't admit too

letsgoflyakite · 04/09/2012 07:46

Presumably because most people tend to arrive a few minutes early, so had I arrived early (like others) she would have got away early, caught the bus, and gone to placement.

She shouldn't be going to placement now, at all... like you say unless she slept. I don't know if I should mention it to my manager? Because she is coming back here tonight after doing a full day at placement. My client is at risk if she hasn't slept, and is at risk if she sleeps here!

If the client is at risk, then Yes, a conversation with your manager is the way to go.

flyoverthegoldenhill · 04/09/2012 08:18

well someone is at risk, either your client or the people she is on placement with. Surely your boss knows about her placements anyway ? If your boss does know then they are at fault too. She shouldn't be working 2 consecutive nights with a placement inbetween.
