I am relieved that the end of the cricket season has arrived because it means that dh and I will not be driving ds2 to all his practices and matches. But the hockey season has started so now we have to taxi ds3 to and from those practices and matches.

I take it your dh won't then be switching to friendly cricket then for a few more weeks, like mine? Just to prolong the agony even further?

I'm glad It's over too. DH doesn't play but does work somewhere with a cricket field and therefore has to work late weekends loads in the summer.

DP did used to play football once the cricket season was over but his 3 knee operations have taken their toll and he's given up on that idea thank god

DP muttered something about golf the other day eats, I'd forgotten about that.

Annoyingly, whilst having a cricket related whinge the other week I told DP I was going to find a hobby that took up a whole day every week leaving him responsible for childcare and housework on his day off. He told me to go ahead! Then I couldn't think of anything that I fancied :(

Tell me about it! Where is that elusive woman related hobby?! Do you also take a perverse pleasure when you see it pissing down outside when your 'loved' one is bravely persevering in his outside sport! I love that rain.

I think we should start a MN cricket widows Saturday afternoon wine tasting club with free cheese and cured meat buffet and attached creche.

I could definitely spend 8 hours or so on that a week.

All those looking for a time-consuming hobby- horse riding; get your own horse and keep it on diy livery . Where i live costs much less than golf, and you have to go morning and evening, and can go for hours at the weekend!!

DH works away quite a bit so when he can get a game of cricket he goes for it. It was the last game this weekend and he has been feeling a bit sorry for himself.

He soon cheered up when he realised the Snooker nights start next week.

For my hobby I intend to take up for lounging around all day with no responsibility for DC and a late night drinking (cricket) and lounging around all evening with no responsibility for the DCs and late night drinking (snooker). Will just have to agree which days are mine.
