Brand new GHDs broken

I'm quite upset as they were a birthday present.

The store won't refund them and say I have to contact GHD directly - any advice?

Just ring GHD - they are amazingly helpful. My dd's straighteners broke after 18 months and they had a 2 year warranty. They had been a present so I had no receipt. The woman on the phone asked for the number on the shiny label to see how old they were. She told me to send them in and they would look at them. 3 days later a brand new pair of GHD's arrived by courier. I was amazed by their good customer service.

i'm shocked that the store is not exchanging them after just 5 days if you have a receipt!

I get that after the statutory 30 days or whatever you have to take up the issue with the manufaturer, but after less than a week!??

they are taking the piss IMO

My GHD's started buzzing after I had had them 10 months, I e-mailed them, they replied almost immediately, I told them that I needed straighteners for a job interview, they told me to send them back, asked me to send them recorded and they would refund the cost and to get a tracking number, advise them of the tracking number and they sent me out a new set that same day, they arrived the following day. Their customer care was amazing.

These items should be covered under a 12 month warranty with the actual store, and if they tell you otherwise, they're wrong. After only 5 days, they need to be exchanging for new ones on production of proof of purchase.
