I agree with posters who think this sort of word play shows the richness of the English language :)

How is it even a sensible abbreviation? Why use something requiring three syllables when you can call it ketchup or red sauce?

Appreciate this is a zombie thread but it has upset me.

I had no idea that there are people who call tomato ketchup "Tommy K".

That does sound pretty lame, although I don't think I've ever heard it before. It really gets on my nerves when people call it 'red sauce', like when they ask you if you want 'brown or red sauce' on your sausage bap in Starbucks. We don't call mustard yellow sauce, do we? It sounds like baby-talk.
