WorriedAboutFretting · 29/08/2012 14:39

Yeah sorry, I wasn't clear, I meant it thought the tunnel went through the water not under itBlush

WorriedAboutFretting · 29/08/2012 14:40

yesofficer i always assumed its pee on a test

yesofficer · 29/08/2012 14:41

Worried Ah ah! Not something I've been worried about for a while so had made no connection.

BadBitchNoMuzzle · 29/08/2012 14:42

Thought 'Anon' was a prolific (possibly French) writer for many years

One of my friends thought the start of Brown Eyed Girl was 'Hey there amigo' - but funnily enough i often tell this tale and the other person responds 'but that's what it is, isn't it?'

SugarBatty · 29/08/2012 14:43

Oohhh, please someone explain to me what (sic) means when it appears in articles and what does N.B stand for?

5inthebed · 29/08/2012 14:44

Ipoat - idiots posting on a thread

I alway thought TIA was a person signing off at the end of her threads Blush

WorriedAboutFretting · 29/08/2012 14:44

yesofficer I could be very much mistaken though as most people put POAS (pee on a stick)

5inthebed · 29/08/2012 14:45

Sic is spelling is correct

WorriedAboutFretting · 29/08/2012 14:45

See I was wrong, but at least now we both know, I'm clearly IPOAT Grin

yesofficer · 29/08/2012 14:46

worried you may have got it wrong!

yesofficer · 29/08/2012 14:47

That's pretty funny, i don't feel quite so Blush now.

TheOneWithTheHair · 29/08/2012 14:48

Pmsl @ this thread. Living flamin' yon! Grin

In the interest of fairness I did once ask who Bill Payer was. Blush I was about 19 at the time.

TheOneWithTheHair · 29/08/2012 14:48

Loving not living.

openerofjars · 29/08/2012 14:49

I thought it was Insane People On A Thread? Confused

SugarBatty · 29/08/2012 14:50

I thought that about TIA too! I kept thinking she name changes a lot and she seems to have been pregnant for ages! It means That Is All doesn't it?

justmatureenough2bdad · 29/08/2012 14:51

N.B = nota bene (latin for "note well")

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 14:52

I always thought TIA mean 'thanks in advance'?!?

justmatureenough2bdad · 29/08/2012 14:53

i also asked what Bill Posters had done to be prosecuted everywhere he went...

blibblibs · 29/08/2012 14:53

TIA - thanks in advance

DisappointedHorse · 29/08/2012 14:55

Grin at this thread!

I was far too old when I realised that Transformers were robots in disguise, not de skies because they can fly (Fantasy Island, de plane de plane!)

I also though Girders were the company that made Irn Bru.

DH has an IQ of 150+. He also thought chickens and hens were different species and didn't know that a gammon was an uncooked ham. He thought they were different meats.

Lovemy3kids · 29/08/2012 14:56

I always used to confuse shop fitters with shoplifters and couldn't understand why they'd advertise the fact they were stealing!!! Blush

Poledra · 29/08/2012 14:56

N.B. is an abbreviation for the Latin phrase 'Nota Bene' and means 'Note Well' literally. Usually means 'Oi, this is important, to remember it'

StealthPolarBear · 29/08/2012 14:57

Thanks in advance

Naoko · 29/08/2012 14:57

That's actually not right about sic 5inthebed, it's Latin and short for sic erat scriptum, 'thus it has been written', to indicate that the spelling of the thing that follows is that way in whatever the author is quoting and thus any spelling mistakes aren't the result of his inability to spell
