DH commented that he liked the Octonauts, and thought the fact that all the featured sea creatures were real was really educational.
when he said the sea creatures were all real, i thought this included the vegemals.

I thought the word Albeit, pronounced Al-bate, was a word meaning 'despite', not 'All-be-it'. I used it for years, absolutely mortified to find out!

Well I'm 42 and have just seen my first picture of a pineapple field. I too just assumed they grew on trees .

I was an early reader whose reading ability outstripped her intelligence somewhat, so I spent a long time thinking the famous five went to an izzland (island) every holiday. I was about 20 books in when the penny dropped.

I also recall a rather embarrassing conversation with two parents crying with laughter as I called pedestrians pedestrainians and couldn't understand what they were finding so funny.

In my year 9 science SATS I sat at one that had the engraving:
