For the tube of sweets that are called "Smarties" the TV advert catchphrase doobrie is "Only Smarties have the answer" meaning "Smarties" as in the tube of sweets (who let's face it only have one acceptable tasting one-orange) AND meaning "Smarties" as in "someone who is really clever, like "smart" a "smartie-pants", a "Smartie"

I've just this week realised that Mini Cheddars are small versions of ... Cheddars.

This smartie thing (we don't have those here) reminds me of an ad that used to play on TV alllll the time. It was for Kay Jewelers, and would show some man giving a woman a gorgeous ring or something and then they would smooch enthusiastically while a voice sang "every kiss begins with Kay..." in the background.

DH thought it was stupid, which it is, but also well and truly did not get it until I pointed out the "kiss" begins with "k".
