to FORCE 80yr old granny to go to the Dr

My granny, 80, who we thought was in possession of all her marbles i.e. still lives independently, drives around, does own shopping etc, rang me yesterday in a state;
She was in a supermarket car park and there was cream all over her windscreen.
Had she done this herself?
Why else would it be there?

Managed to get it off and have made an appointment to see dr but this has upset her more as she said it wasn't her.
WWYD ?

Tell her to be grateful her car wasn't keyed.

coffeeandwine · 26/08/2012 19:21
Grin Is she quite a nippy driver?

Suggest its time she learnt some manners.

MammaTJisanOlympicSumoWrestler · 26/08/2012 19:23

The doctor cannot cure rudness, don't waste their time.

JustFabulous · 26/08/2012 19:24

I would believe my granny and stop forcing her to do things she doesn't want to do.

just getting into the spirit

Viperidae · 26/08/2012 19:24

Suggest she posts a thread about young people who think they are entitled to parking spaces on Gransnet.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 26/08/2012 19:24

It was probably kids messing about. I hope she wasn't too upset, it must have been a bit of a shock for her. I'd like to think they didn't know it was an old person's car when they did it but who knows. Hopefully it was just a mindless prank though, and nothing more to it than that.

PomBearWithAnOFRS · 26/08/2012 19:25

Oh and why on earth do you want her to see the doctor? I just realised what you posted about that. She is a grown up. She has been the victim of a prank. And your helpful idea is to "force" her to see a doctor.. let's hear it for loving support...

DanyTargaryen · 26/08/2012 19:26

The mumsnet threads be a confusing bunch tonight..

SPsFanjoSponsoredByFemFresh · 26/08/2012 19:26

She's lost her marbles or someone doesn't like her.

Did they leave strawberries? Grin

MrsHelsBels74 · 26/08/2012 19:26

I wouldn't send her to the doctor's, but maybe advise her to be a bit more considerate in car parks Grin

redexpat · 26/08/2012 19:27

I'd tell her to drive more considerately and introduce her to Mumsnet Grin

DanyTargaryen · 26/08/2012 19:28

Oh I get it now. It wasn't your nan creaming her own car, it was some other woman wasting her pavlova cream after a row about a space, which if it is to be believed your gran was involved in?

am i getting warm? Gosh this is so silly

Hopeforever · 26/08/2012 19:29

I'd book her some driving lessons and make sure she carries a spare bottle of water in the car for when it gets creamed again

directoroflegacy · 26/08/2012 19:33

Yes DanyT you are right all counts : silly , not my nan a complete waste of cream
