To be looking forward to the cricket season ending

For a number of reasons.
It's an incredibly boring sport to watch, for me anyway.
It is taking over our every weekend atm, certainly every Saturday during the season and some Sundays
And now ds wants to play so I have a grown up child and an actual child to contend with constantly talking about a sport I literally have no idea about or interest in lol

I have tried my hardest to get into the sport since I met dp as it is part of him, but alas I cannot.

Funny I was just encouraging my children to ditch rugby and football in favour of cricket - at least it's on in nice weather ...

That is a good point. When its really sunny I don't mind, we take a picnic and enjoy being outside, when its grotty but dry I have no interest sitting and watching people throw balls around for up to 7 hours.
Dp has been told that if ds wants to play then that's his decision but dp is to take him and sort it all. I'll have a nice afternoon to myself.

Sporty household here too. Cricket, golf and any motor sport make my eyes glaze over.

They all play cricket. In Gods name, what idiot invented cricket whites. I swear it would be cheaper to buy a new set every week rather than forever soaking them in expensive stain remover.

Cricket greens is what we want!

Still, I'd rather they are all playing sport outside rather than xbox groupies, only surfacing from the bedroom for meals.

We never soak them, right from the first wear they are covered in stains - I've never once got a stain out. They are clean (but stained) so he still wears them. Life's too short to soak stuff.

Cricket has always bored me to tears. Luckily for me its just me and DD now so I don't even notice the cricket season. I feel your pain :)

TBH, I prefer cricket as background noise on the telly where i ignore it to noisy football... Wink
